US Immigration from Mexico

My husband entered the U.S. on his CR-1 visa on September 23. He had checked "YES" on his DS-260 to automatically apply for his SSN, but three weeks went by, and it hadn't arrived, so we went to our local SSA office on October 13. They said it was never generated, so he applied for his number that day with them, saying that it should arrive in 7-10 business days. The two-week mark just passed, so we went back to the office today, and they told him that it's still processing and his application is "under investigation." (actually said in Spanish, "bajo investigaci n," so I don't know what terminology in English is used by SSA). They said that SSA would call us if they need any additional documents, and it could be another four weeks.

On SAVE, it says there was a CaseCheck on October 13, and the case status is "Returned to Agency."

My husband is very eager to start working, and even though his CR-1 visa stamp gives him authorization, every employer is saying they can't until he gets his SSN. He does have an ITIN from when we did our taxes this year. And he's obviously spooked at the term "under investigation."

Has this happened to anyone else? Anything we can do?

Unfortunately my wife and I have decided to file for divorce. Our case got documentary qualified this august and its currently still at the NVC. Do we have to notify the NVC or somebody about the divorce before going through with it?

Does anyone know how long it is currently taking to get an interview in Ciudad Juarez?

I have submitted all of the required documents and paid all of the fees to the NVC and received a Documentarily Qualified email on June 23, 2023. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea how long it would take to get an interview.

Me (US citizen) and my wife (Philippines citizen) are currently in a long distance relationship and I am located in the US,she in the Philippines. We want visit Japan in Spring while we wait for the processing of our US visa application.

As I understand all Filipino residents need to submit an application to the Japanese embassy for a tourist visa, which includes proof of income, tax returns, and bank statements.

How can I best support this application process for my wife and what is the process of being a guarantor as her husband? We got married out of the country, so does providing that marriage certificate and a couple of my US based bank statements suffice?

She is currently unemployed and transitioning her career and studying. I support her in that time. How can I best prove that she is capable of participating in this trip ( I make enough to support both of us because I have a well paying job). Can she submit my bank statements to the agency that will help her with the process? Can I simply right a letter explaining the situation?

Has anyone else gone through this process? Any help would be appreciated!
