Hello everyone. I am the petitioner for my wife and we applied for her adjustment of status in August. I was very lax on the next steps but now that i have looked further into it im very nervous. We don't have any documents showing that we live together because we currently live with family members and all the utility rent lease items are in their names. We planned on moving out once her Employment Authorization is approved so she can help with the bills. there are 4 of us MY wife and I and our 2 children (through marriage) Could you guys help me with the kind of documents that would be good for proof of us living together and any other tips that you might have please please

Completed I-485 Marriage AOS Interview...

7/3/19 - my husband and I filed I-485, I-130, I-765, and I-131 all concurrently to the Chicago address. All evidence , medical exam , and fees were sent as well.

7/29 - Received Biometrics Appt.

8/20- Biometrics appointment

9/25 - Case is ready to be scheduled for interview

9/26 - Case was scheduled for interview at Pittsburgh Office

11/6 - I-485 AOS interview was that morning. We arrived 30 mins before appointment . We were called back separately (husband first ) approximately 45 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. They questioned my husband about my family , if he had kids , was he in a gang , ever been arrested , what we did for Halloween , what we are on Halloween , etc...... They kept him in there questioning him for Atleast 45 mins. The IO calls me back after he is finished questioning my husband. I was sworn in , and told I was being recorded , and was asked the same questions as my husband. This went on for about 15 minutes. After the interview , the IO asked me what I brought with me. He kept the pictures , lease , and the copy of an insurance policy and told me we would receive the decision in the mail. I was kind of bummed we didn t get approved on the spot, but me and my husband both did well in the interview.

11/9 - App is updated to show I-130 approved.

11/12 - Receive official I-130 approval in the mail.

11/27 - I checked the app today and it is showing I-765 approved and card is being produced.

Does each form have to be approved before the greencard can be approved ? I figured they would approve the greencard and not bother with approving the other forms. Has anyone else had this experience before ? I hate waiting , it s hell. LOL..... We love each other very much and want to start our life together and be able to travel and do him start working. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi there community!

Well, the title says it all, recently I got my conditions removed and now a have a Green Card that's good for the next 10 years, and that was thanks to this forum, thank you, thank you, thank you very much!!

So now my options are:

  • Stay as a law-abiding permanent resident (green card holder) for... who knows? It may be forever.
  • Start studying and preparing everything to become a US Citizen.

But I wanted to ask for an honest opinion on what advantages (and disadvantages) comes with it, can't wait to read y'all answers. Peace

Recieved NOA2 and have a few questions about next steps

Recently received NOA2! Yay! However, we know we're not in the clear quite yet. I'm thinking ahead regarding the documents we'll need to collect and I'm a bit concerned about the police certificate the beneficiary has to obtain. I read that in Mexico you can get this from the state. The beneficiary has lived in various states throughout his life... does he need a certificate from each state he's lived in, or just the current one?

Also, I've been reading that people are waiting months for an interview. If he gets the certificate now, is that too soon? Will it "expire" after a certain amount of time?

Oh, another question: On the NOA2, it says the aporoval will expire in 4 months. But if it takes more than 4 months to get a slot for an interview, what do we do to make sure it remains valid?

Let me know if I'm posting this in the wrong place. Thanks!
