I need your help guys.

My husband's info:

Preference Category: IR1

Priority Date: 30-SEP-16

Received our NOR that NVC received our application and was in queue for appointment interview: 2/26/19

Received an email notification of his interview date scheduled for 2/12/20 (WED) at CIUDAD JUAREZ: 1/3/20

Applied I-130 September of 2016, got approved a year later sometime last quarter of 2017, then applied for waiver, then got approved 1 year later sometime last quarter of 2018, applied for 260 and received NOR on 2/26/19 for the said interview queue and 1/3/20 received a notice that we are in line for the interview for 2/12/20 AT CIUDAD JUAREZ.

Our question is, we just received that notice of interview, but we have been hearing a lot that we would still need to schedule a biometrics there in Ciudad Juarez at least 1 day prior to interview. Is that true? Because, it did not say in our instructions that we need biometrics. Also, my attorney said that we don't need it and that he already filed DS-260 and that is why we are approved already and all we need was just the interview, but the lady from Mexico we spoke to, told us that we need to have Biometrics first, on top of medical and police certificate, before he can even be interviewed. We were recommended to this lady because our friend went there last year of January too and he went with this lady, whom he paid just $40 per night and that she was good and had assisted him all throughout his stay there, so we thought of going with her too. If we have to do the biometrics, just to make sure, how do we do it then? How do we schedule it on our own? Lady said to have our attorney do it for us since we have a representative, but that my attorney even said that we don't need that, so we thought of doing it on our own. My question is do you guys know the process to go about doing it? Can you give me the link? I need to know and plan this ASAP while the SOUTHWEST tickets are still cheap going to El Paso, TX from San Jose, CA.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you.

Hey guys hope every one is well and having an awesome New Year!

Today I received correspondence from NVC via email. It was our letter for our appointment in Ciudad Juarez. Our appointment is 2/4/2020 (yay!)

My question is, I tried looking us up on CEAC and it doesnt reflect the update. Will that take time or is there somewhere else where I can track our case? Thanks in advance for your help

My beneficiary's K1 interview is scheduled for March 4th and I have some questions about the documentation required for the affidavit of support. My 2019 income is $41,000 but I'm not sure if I will have my 2019 tax transcript by the date of the appointment. Will they accept the W2 as proof of income instead? I'm worried because my 2018 income was only around $25,000 (I was still in college and only worked part time). I will try to file my taxes as soon as possible. Does anyone know how long it takes to generate the transcript after I file online?

Thanks!

Planning to become a citizen and apply for mother. Doubts.

Hi there community!

I'll try to make this the shortest possible:

I'm currently a US resident that will be able to apply for citizenship next April (which I plan to do), now... after becoming a citizen I'd like to bring my mother with me but I'm wondering: Am I allowed to apply for her right after becoming a citizen or is there a time that I need to wait?

Also, I've heard of people that have applied for their parents and it has taken them several years (sometimes more than 10), is there a particular reason for that to happen?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Good Morning and Happy New Year! If this is in the wrong area, please feel free to move it.

My husband will be applying for citizenship next month based on our continued marriage of at least 3 years. We have been waiting for an interview for his ROC since September 2019. The way things are looking with the Atlanta field office, I don't think we'll receive an interview date prior to his eligibility date. He became a legal permanent resident on 5/1/17, so based on the USCIS early calculator he would be eligible to file on 2/1/2020. He is going to apply on 2/2/2020 to make sure there are no issues with early filing.

For those who have filed or are thinking of filing, what do you think of the below evidence? I appreciate any suggestions or advice. We included what was required per the instructions and a little extra just in case. Thank you so much!

Form G-1450 Authorization for Credit Card Transactions in the amount of $725.

My completed form N-400.
