Hi there, I have a Tourist Visa B-2 move to the states with my wife and kid on October 2019 started my AOS, My wife is a US Citizen os my kid I have been always had a B-2, sent my paperwork on October 29, Got my receipts on November 8th, got my fingerprints taken on December 1st week, got a RFE on January 14 and got the letter on the 17th of January, basically they are asking in the letter to provide with a I-864 from my wife (I did send one but with my in-laws information as my sponsors), the last two years we been living outside from the country and she was a home stay Mom, while I was working. she started also to work on October 2019, we got her W-2, from her work, again she doesn't meet the minimum income requirements that's why we decided to get help from her parents. here are my questions.

We were trying to make her taxes but when we decide to filed them, we don't know how to do it? We got married but in my country and I have never been working in the US, so on the tax program is asking for my SSN (I don't have one), she is at her work as married, does she need to filed as married? if so how we do it (There is another way to filed taxes without me that is as single or head of household) but again we don't know if there will be any issue with USCIS or our case. what are your toughts?

By the way, everything we been doing is on our own, we don't have a lawyer.

Thanks for your input.

Sorry if it is a silly question but I would like to read people experience on how they have prepared the folder for the interview . My mom's lawyer only gave her 2 yellow envelopes and in one envelope there is the paperwork (DS-260, interview letter , birth certificates, tax returns, marriage certificate, check stubs, etc ) and I want to organize more detailed for she would not be sorting through in front of the officer.

anybody have organized their folder?

also her interview is Feb 12 in Juarez. people have been saying the officers are requesting the tax transcripts and original paperwork such as birth certificates and copies is that true.

my husband went in 2018 for interview but i know now things have changed slightly.

VA Requesting Proof Social Security # Never Issued

I'm trying to add my wife to my VA disability and they're requesting proof the SS Administration never issued her a social security number. SSA has me going to IRS to get a tax number for her which hopefully will work as proof when I also include her Mexican birth certificate.

Anyone else had this issue and what did you do to resolve it?

Obtaining a Visitor Visa with an I-130 Pending

This is a shot in the dark and it is quite possible that this has been addressed elsewhere in the forums but I am certain I will be chastised and corrected should that be the case. I am one of the unlucky ones that has been assigned to the Nebraska Service Center with Visa Journey timeline estimates of 1 year from now for approval. That aside, I am trying to bring my spouse up from Mexico and there is currently at least a 1 year wait for interviews in Juarez. All in all we're looking at well in excess of 2 years before I will actually be able to spend any time with my wife in the US. She currently has no US visitor visa and has never been in the US. I know what you're thinking.... this is exactly what the K3 is supposed to address but I'm being told that the K3 does not actually exist in common practice anymore. I am, however, also submitting my K3 package tomorrow - for whatever that is worth. Since I would actually like for her to spend a little time in the US with my family and me and see the country, I am researching other options. Since I have NO expectation that we will actually be granted a K3, I am looking at having her apply for a visitor visa but then you have the whole "non-immigrant intent" issue. I have been told that it is not technically impossible to obtain a visitor visa with a pending I-130 so it sounds like there is at least a bit more of a chance that she could get a visitor visa than a K3 which in both cases would accomplish the same thing for us.

Now that I have laid the groundwork, what I am looking for is advice from those long-time forum members and hopefully even those of you that have been successful in obtaining a visitor visa while having a pending I-130. What can I do to improve our chances? What can I do to bolster her case? I know there will be plenty of people that are happy to chime in to tell me that it is a hopeless proposition but what I'm really needing is some constructive advice. Anyone?

Providing IRS Transcripts for Financial Evidence

We were able to reschedule my husband's interview for Feb. 27th. I'm trying to gather the paperwork, and wondered about the IRS Transcripts. On their website, they say it takes 2-3 weeks after filing taxes to then request a transcript. That's cutting it close for us, and I know its in the middle of tax season so Im probably not the only one who hasn't done taxes yet (intend to tomorrow though.)

My question is, when the consulate asks for the most recent year of IRS transcripts, do you think they would take the 2018 year seeing as we are in a time zone where 2019 might not be finished filing yet? I could also include the tax returns for 2019, but maybe that would just be confusing rather than helpful and informative.
