TWITTER USERS! If you don t have twitter, please consider signing up for this cause, we need everyone s help!
Here is a plan to get our hashtags trending and to have our voices heard.
I made a list with TWITTER ACCOUNTS that we should tag.
- DEPARTMENT OF STATE
- IMMIGRATION & CITIZENSHIP COMMITTEE (DEMOCRATS & REPUBLICANS)
- SOME OF THE WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS
To reach these people, we should be all tagging them on the same days. So we divided them into THREE groups. Please tag those people according to the DAYS/GROUPS below, don t forget to include hashtags!
You can tag your embassy if you d like to, but even better tag the AMBASSADOR of your embassy.
EXAMPLE: On Sundays/Mondays, we will be tweeting and tagging people from group 1. If you RT something, tag them too.
Here are some points NOT to forget when tweeting:
  • - Make valid arguments
  • - Don t be rude to media/government officials
  • - Let s keep it apolitical, we need everyone s support!
  • - RT! RT! RT!
Twitter TIPS:
  • - Asking followers to RT has a 4X higher RT rate
  • - For every 100 users you follow, 31 will follow you back (You don t need to follow 100 people, but it would be good to follow influential people and those fighting for the same cause)
  • - Get more engagement by tweeting: IMAGES, QUESTIONS, LINKS
  • Please post below if you have any IMAGES, LINKS or TWEET TEMPLATES that other people can share too!
  • Feel free to tag other people you think might help. If you have a group chat with people from the same country / time zone, you can all arrange to tweet around the same time.
  • If there s an event for for everyone to tweet at the same time, you can SCHEDULE your tweets.

Hi everyone, it seems there are lots of us fellow IV interviewees experiencing issues at the Embassies/Consulates interviews. Specifically it seems it is related to the recent court injunctions on the Public Charge at DHS and DOS. USCIS has already clarified that they would revert back to the previous public charge guidance. However, DOS has not provided any guidance or clarification to the Consular Officers/embassies/consulates about how to deal with that.

From other forums/posts, many of us seem to experience the impact on that indecision first hand.

Please do share your experience and status in regard to your interviews if you had, have or will have an interview in August 2020 or recently.

Greetings. I m the original author of the LingChe Shortcut Wiki....way back in 2007 I believe. Back then, I believe the average time through NVC was 6 months to a year. Once the shortcuts were published, it wasn t unusual to see families move through NVC in 2 or 3 weeks. I believe the current record is 8 days.

I m really glad to see that some great people have kept it up to date as processes have changed. I m really proud that I ve been able to make a lasting contribution to this amazing community, and help families navigate through immigration and be together sooner.

It pained me today to see all the increases in immigration fees, but at least the I-90 fee was reduced. My wife and I will be celebrating 15 years of marriage soon. We will never forget the experience, and all the great people we met along our Visa journey. I hope everyone is staying well during these trying times, emotionally as well as physically. I recall the knots in my stomach every time I was waiting for something. Creating the LingChe Shortcuts wasn t just giving back, we used them to expedite our journey, and I used it as therapy while waiting for my wife s Visa.

Peace and love to all.

On July 29, 2020, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York enjoined the government from enforcing, applying, implementing, or treating as effective, the USCIS Final Rule on Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds (84 FR 41292, 8/14/19)during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The court also issued a separate order granting an injunction that enjoins the government from implementing, or taking any actions to enforce or apply, the 2018 FAM Revisions, the DOS Interim Final Rule on Visa Ineligibility on Public Charge Grounds (84 FR 54996, 10/11/19), or the President s October 4, 2019 Proclamation, Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Will Financially Burden the United States Healthcare System in Order to Protect the Availability of Healthcare Benefits for Americans (84 FR 53991, 10/9/19) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As many of you have already been aware, the days old injunctions issued by SDNY have already halt some of the immigration visas at US Embassies or Consulates worldwide. Some people I know of or ready from the forum were told by CO that no visa will be issued until DOS has provided guidance.

Wonder what would happen as our consulate interview is coming up in 2 weeks? Does that mean no need for DS-5540? Any ideas or thoughts?
