USCIS Account Lost?

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I used My USCIS, and now that I want to log in again, it doesn't let me. Right now, I want to use My USCIS to file for citizenship. The last time I used My USCIS account is when I moved to my current address 3 years ago, to file address change.

I tried "forgot password" and tried with multiple emails too, although I do know which one I used before because I have some past emails from USCIS.

Every time I try the "forgot password" link and get an "instruction" email, it says this:

"This address does not have an associated account. If you previously accessed your USCIS myAccount account online, you may have used a different email address.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE" And that's it.

So I messaged them using the contact form on the website last week. No response. So I tried calling USCIS today. I cannot get to a human. The robot sends me email instructions that I've already gone through (leads me to send them a message on the website). I tried "speak with representative" multiple times and then it would end the call.

What should I do? Has this happened to anyone before? What could be the reason? Does our account get terminated after a certain period of inactivity? Should I just make a new account??

I'm wondering if I need to go through Infopass? If I could resolve this issue without going to USCIS in person, I'd love that. Please help!!

Thanks!!

Is previously having possessed a CR1 green card likely to impact a new application?

Presenting in timeline format rather than essay for simplicity.

Wife - Japanese citizen

Me - US citizen

2017 - Married

January 2018 - Started I-130 process

November 2018 - Approved for CR1

February 2019 - Moved to US

September 2019 - Stuff happened with wife's family back in Japan, so she flew back. Found out it will be for indefinite period of time.

February 2020 - I moved to Japan since we have no idea how long this will be

February 2021 - CR1 visa expired, but she had already left the US and had not returned, so she has never overstayed.

Late 2022 (I think?) - We filed I-407 to officially abandon LPR status. Family stuff is resolved, but we're settled back in Japan.

Now - Company is planning to relocate me to Hawaii in March 2024

So the short relocation timeline possibly qualifies us for DCF, but of course that's not a guarantee; we'll have to see how that plays out. My main concern is whether or not my wife previously having LPR but then only being in the country for 8 months and then surrendering LPR a couple of years later is likely to affect her new application. We have clear documentation in her passport of leaving the US and not returning, and translated record of her re-registering as a resident of Japan, both occurring before her CR1 expired.

Anyone have experience with this? With trying to get the exact same status again, just a few years later?

Can I file I-485 AOS without NOA2? (I797 Approval)

Hi! I am a K1 visa petitioner.

I never received the I-797 Approval (NOA2). I did receive the I-797 Receipt (NOA1).

It seems the I-485 needs both. I filed an eRequest with USCIS but we are already close to the 90 day mark here I'm the states and apparently that will take 30 days to be responded to With no assurance I will get the copy for I-797 NOA2 Approval.

Has anyone filed without it, instead using a copy of NOA1, a pdf of the online site showing the status is approved, or even a letter from the embassy saying they received the approval?

I am getting worried and am shocked to see the copy of this paper is a requirement even though we never got it.

Need a PH NBI Letter for Interview in Tokyo

Hello, we are an American & Filipino couple interviewing for the K1 fianc visa in Tokyo Japan. The embassy will likely tell us how to go about getting a Japanese background check soon. We also will surely want an NBI background check from the Filipinnes as well as the CINOMAR or "cert of no marriage."

Does anyone have any idea of how to get the NBI background check in the best way? Do they have to send it to us sealed in a special envelope? My fiance is saying that they don't ever seal the background checks and just hand you a loose a piece of paper. I am worried that if we give the consulate officer a loose NBI background check, they might get upset that it was not sealed first. Or does the NBI have to send it to Tokyo?

Thank you.

My husband and I applied CR1 in May 2023, we received NOA 1 on the same month but 148 days later, there s no other updates from USCIS.
How long does it usually take to receive NOA2? And anyone applied the same visa on the same month as us?
