US Immigration from Jamaica

Hello everyone, I am utterly confused and frustrated and I hope someone can shed some light that will provide assurance. So my niece's case was approved after initial denial and request for more information. She was told to drop off her passport and then now it says it is in administrative processing. Is this normal even after approval? Sigh. Thanks in advance!

I'm wondering if somebody who has experience with the Jamaican medical exam can please provide their experience with a fianc who has smoked weed in the past? What questions were asked? Is there really a one year ban if you answer yes to smoking weed in the past, but could pass a drug test? I understand they want to know if there an addiction involved, but if you pass a drug test or haven't smoked in years, why would they still ban for a year by being honest? I hear so many different stories. I'm not sure what to be prepared for.

October of 2019 my husband had his biometric for the 10 card. We have not heard anything as of yet. I spoke with a attorney she said the state that we are in usually move fast. We should have heard something by now. But he was arrest last year for assault. But was not charge and I wrote a letter to immigration about the abuse. She said it could be that they are investigating. I dnt know if the finger prints came in as him being arrested. The is she said if we had a interview for the 2 year most time u dont need another one. But with me reporting the abuse and sending police records it maybe why the delay.

My niece just recently was approved at the US Embassy in Jamaica and was told to drop off her passport (she was initially denied). My question is is there any way to check the status of the visa? I remember years ago when I did the K1 visa I was able to check the status and pick up the passport and have my then husband fly out the same day. Thanks in advance for any help!
