US Immigration from Jamaica

Hi all,

I've been looking all over the forum for an answer to this question - and short of actually going to an immigration attorney - I'm hoping someone here maybe has an answer:

I'm a LPR and recently got married, now currently waiting on the marriage certificate in hand so I can finally submit our application. I have a list of gov't/places I need to contact to change my name. I know I can use the marriage certificate as proof of name change (I plan to hyphenate) but, do I need to change my permanent resident card before I submit the I-130? Or can I submit the application using the A-number and photocopyof card and request the name change during? I'm trying to get as many of my ducks in a row for when we submit to avoid getting a RFE or other setbacks.

Hey again, I wanted to know if there is a link on here that already has a step by step on how do the CR1. Also is there an updated estimated processing time for Jamaica, I've heard about 3 different time frames. Also my wife has a child under 18 and I was told that I have to do an application separately.

Hey guys...didnt think I would be back here again lol question...I am married and my husband is already in the states. He and his family have green cards, but his expired last September. He has and attorney and she is very incompetent. She was supposed to file to forms to renew his GC and just recently told him that someone in her office filled out the Asylum form on accident...she has made so many mistakes and we just want to do this on our own. So because my husband is already in the states, and been here a while, where do I start? he cant work right now or renew his license because of this attorney. We just want to go ahead and file the forms ourselves....
