Proof of domicile

Hey,

My wife had her immigrant visa interview on Wednesday in Jerusalem, I am an American citizen, both of us live together in Israel and the address I put on the I-864 is an address in Israel were we live and work.

The consul told her that basically the visa was approved but we still need to provide additional documents for proof of domicile and only then she will receive her passport with the visa.

We have an American bank account, but he said we need more proof, I was thinking to ask my aunt who lives in the states to sign a lease agreement that we will rent a room in her house. will that be enough? what other proof can we provide? Sign a GYM membership maybe? Renters insurance?

Thanks for any advice.

Any idea why a case could be updated on CEAC almost 2 years after receiving my immigration visa?

A friend asked me to check if the website worked because she was getting an error, I was surprised to see that my case was updated 2 months ago....I'm in the US almost 2 years now with a 10 year GC

Hello,

My wife and I are filling I 130, I am an american citizen, both of us live outside the US and are planing to immegrate once she recives an immegrant visa.

page:7 Part 4. Information about beneficiary:

beneficiary entry information- She has a tourist visa and visited the US last year, currentaly she is NOT in the US. Do we still fill in the number of her I-94 arrival-departure record?

The reason we ask is because on the Instructions for Form I-130 page: 5, #:7:

7. Form I-94 Arrival-Departure Record. Complete Part 4., Item Numbers 46.b. - 50., of the petition regarding the admission or travel document for the beneficiary. If U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or USCIS issued the beneficiary a Form I-94, Arrival-Departure Record, provide the beneficiary s Form I-94 number and date that his or her authorized period of stay expires or expired (as shown on Form I-94). The Form I-94 number also is known as the Departure Number on some versions of Form I-94. NOTE: If the beneficiary was admitted to the United States by CBP at an airport or seaport after April 30, 2013, he or she may have been issued an electronic Form I-94 by CBP, instead of a paper Form I-94. The beneficiary may visit the CBP website at www.cbp.gov/i94 to obtain a paper version of his or her electronic Form I-94. CBP does not charge a fee for this service. Some travelers admitted to the United States at a land border, airport, or seaport, after April 30, 2013 with a passport or travel document, who were issued a paper Form I-94 by CBP, may also be able to obtain a replacement Form I-94 from the CBP website without charge. If his or her Form I-94 cannot be obtained from the CBP website, it may be obtained by filing Form I-102, Application for Replacement/Initial Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Record, with USCIS. USCIS does charge a fee for this service. Passport and Travel Document Numbers. Complete Part 4., Item Numbers 45. - 50., as applicable, if the beneficiary relative used a passport or travel document to travel to the United States, enter either the passport or travel document information in the appropriate space on the petition, even if the passport or travel document is currently expired.

Thanks allot,

Ilan

NVC - Sponsor does not meet the minimum income

Hi All,

This forum has been super helpful and has a treasure trove of good information. Of course, everybody's case is slightly different so it can be a bit confusing at times.

Currently at the NVC stage submitting the AOS documentation, i864 form etc before sending to the consulate(ISRAEL) for interviewing scheduling.

After fixing my domicile status to USA and providing all of the evidence, I resubmitted the documents, I now got this reply:

"SPONSOR_NAME does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case.
The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview.

So my main questions are:

  1. Assuming my income reported for the last 3 years abroad is foreign, regardless of the amount being way above and beyond the requirements - due to income exclusion on my 1040 reported on my taxes - it is ZERO as far as the NVC is concerned?
  2. Can you request to resubmit my i864 again and should I add cash assets here abroad which can also cover the requirement? Is it even worth it?
  3. NVC requested proof of current employment which i can easily provide although once again - I do not have an "official" relocation letter from my company just yet until 2021...

I am trying to understand will the consular officer understand my current financial status if I provide all bank account statements, paystubs for the last 12 months etc..

Hi,

Our local consulate says they are only processing emergency and mission-critical cases, but since our case is immediate relative we can ask for expedite.

But I'm seeing many interviews are being schedueled in countries worse than ours (Covid-wise) according to timelines here on the website.

So what exactly is happening? When can we expect an interview to be scheduled? Will it be a long wait?

Thanks
