Question about LPR status |

Hi, My fiance and I are applying for a K1 and I've come up against a small source of anxiety today (application just filed). Long story short, I had LPR status as a child, but then my parents and I moved back to our home country. I've found out that my parents didn't renounce their LPR status, and so I probably still technically have it, as I never renounced it either. Will this be an obstacle at this stage? My feeling is that the K1 doesn't grant LPR, it only makes one eligible for it, so as long as I renounce my old LPR before doing AOS after the K1 is granted, then I should be fine. But I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Hello. We submitted our i130 March 5 on line. After that it s been touched on March 17 and July 2. I checked last night and the last touched date said August 29 which was a Saturday. I ve heard people on here say sometimes the approval can take a couple of days to appear. Could this be what s happening? I don t want to jinx us but... also, is it just me or have the Nebraska processing times decreased a lot? My approval estimation I receive in email has moved from December up to just a couple of weeks from now. one more question - once the i130 is approved will we just be sitting and waiting for the US embassy to reopen for interviews once we submit the 864 & ds 260? thank you and good luck to everyone during this trying time

Hello, My spouse and I (US citizen) have been documentarily qualified since April this year. We have been patiently waiting for the interview date. However it is getting very stressful and depressing for both of us, as I am in the USA and my spouse is still in Ireland. Has anyone been able to successfully get an interview appointment yet for IR1 visa? I have called the embassy, only to get a voice recording, and have emailed as well, getting no response back.

I-864 Joint Sponsor Income Questions |

Hi All, I hope this is the right place for this, I am using a Joint Sponsor, and her income comes from a few separate places. She makes just under the poverty guidelines from self-employed income (realtor) and has a 1099 for that, but she also has a 1099r that she also lives off of. Does this count as income or as an asset? It is inheritance from her deceased father's life insurance (and his retirement/a retirement stream if I'm not mistaken). With the amount on the 1099r she well exceeds the poverty guideline amount, so it would be helpful if this could be counted as income. If the 1099r counts as an asset and not income, is it worth front-loading as much of her other assets into the form as possible, or will the 1099r (which well satisfies the 3-5 times difference asset requirement) be sufficient? I'd also appreciate any direction or insight regarding calculating the current individual annual income; as she is a realtor and works off of commission, her income from that can be relatively inconsistent at times. Thank you all for your time
