NVC supervisor review

Hi,

We got our case sent for supervisor review one week ago, I know they say it can take up to 60 days but from what I ve seen on different forums it looks like most people get their issue resolved within a week.

We were asked to resubmit documents that we already submitted and were approved. The agent on the phone said our case should of been approved so sent us to a supervisor to fix the problem.

I'm curious if anyone has gone through something similar lately?

thanks in advance!

SSN and changing name

Hi all

I applied for a SSN in person around 2 weeks ago. The lady said that it should all go ok and my details were all fine on the system. I have since got married and want to apply for AOS. I called today and the SSN office said that my details have been sent to DHS and I need to wait for them to "approve my status" or something like that which can take anything from 2-6 weeks. They told me I could try calling USCIS but I cannot seem to get through to a human on the telephone line. For me to go onto my husbands medical insurance we need a SSN and register within 30 days of marriage which is short of the 6 weeks that DHS might take to process me.

Would I be better to wait and apply for AOS once I have received my SSN or just go ahead and apply and would that make any difference to whether or not they issue a SSN now? Also I was going to apply for AOS in my maiden name and then change my name down the line, is that an issue ever or am I better to do it now?

Thanks

Timing of I-134 and Employment Status

Background: I'm a February 2021 filer waiting on NOA2 and expecting (hoping) to see it mid-September to early October. Looks like Dublin is booking interviews about 3 months out from NOA2 so that would put us at January, maybe.

I quit my well-paying job in June as I was burning out, was offered consulting work, and had savings in case I needed them. I've been consulting since then and making enough to keep me well above the required income line. The only thing that's causing me anxiety is the thought that if I am not employed when we need to file the I-134, this whole wait might have been for nothing. I am interviewing for full time roles now, but in my field it's not unusual for it to take 3 months from application to offer. My tax returns for the last few years show steady and high-paying employment, but I don't have anything showing my self-employment consulting income because I've only been doing it since June. I do not have enough in savings to be able to make up for the "not employed by someone else" aspect. From what I've read this is highly likely to be an issue and a joint sponsor is not an option.

It is my understanding that the I-134 is needed at the interview, but not before. Is that correct? If so, I figure I have until maybe December to get myself a full time job. Right now I'm being really picky about where I apply, but probably need to be less so just so I can have something in place.

Hello,

we have been stuck at the NVC since April and finally got all of our documents approved today (which happens to be our wedding anniversary ).

but we are still not DQed. We got notice to upload all of our joint sponsors W2 s, however we already did this. I put the two of them in a single PDF that was approved.

I am going to call the second the NVC opens, but I m curious if anyone else has dealt with this and how they fixed it. I m really hoping we don t have to resubmit again.

thanks in advance!

Irish Gov website says US not issuing new green cards?

To begin, I obviously know the Irish government is not the American government. However, it still is my government and where I am emigrating from. The Department of Foreign Affairs website says the follow:

While existing Permanent Resident Cards (often called Green Cards ) remain valid, US authorities are not currently issuing new Green Cards or renewing them. Existing visas remain valid as long as the holder remains within the US. Current visa holders based in the US wishing to travel to Ireland or any other country covered by the Presidential Proclamation are strongly advised to check before they travel as to whether they would need an exception to re-enter the US. The US authorities only consider applications for these once you have left the US, so applying before travel is not possible.

https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/united-states-of-america/

I've just completed my medical and interview for my Spousal Visa but have not been contacted again by the embassy. What does this mean for me? Is there truth to this? Will this delay them in sending the packet? Will it stop me from getting through the airport? I've already visited the US since Covid under the presidential proclamation exception for spouses so surely I can enter with my new residency?

Please help. I'm stressing like crazy over this.
