Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm 24/F/Ireland and I'm working alongside my fianc (25/M/Oklahoma) to get a K1 visa for marriage in the states. The process is like Chinese water torture. It's just constantly dripping new obstacles and errors over and over until I go insane. Today I was notified that my birth certificate (printed in English when it was issued to my parents from the Irish government the day I was born) is in fact not written in English and I must now have it translated. Why, you may ask? Because *beside* the English, in small faint text, is Irish Gaeilge put there for the Irish people who can't speak English. The professional translator herself is equally baffled by this. I feel so hopeless sometimes. It's bad enough we fell into the Boundless Immigration trap, it's worse that I have to juggle these <DELETED> requests on top of making peace with leaving my whole life/family/world behind to get married and have it all be ignored because the only proof that matters is paper, and even worse still that I'm essentially having to guide my fianc through the paperwork because he's not great with paperwork and procrastinates instead of helping me. What the hell does an affidavit from his aunt prove that my words don't? I'm going insane. I feel like I'm never going to get this poxy application submitted and if I do they're going to tell me to off back to Ireland because we forgot to dot an "i".

Hello everyone, I m new to the site and still trying to work my way around it so apologies if this has been asked before! I m Irish, and my fianc is American. We met while he was studying in Ireland, but he moved back to the US 2 months ago. We re ready to start the K-1 visa process, but since he s recently moved, bought a car, and is furnishing his apartment, he doesn t have the funds for the I-129F filing fee at the moment. We want to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. So my question is, can I send him money to help him get the process started? Or will doing so cause issues later in our application? For context, he does meet the minimum income requirement (he s a junior doctor), but he s just getting settled again after moving. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I posted on another forum a few weeks back and had a few replies, but the embassy in Dublin is really putting us through the ringer so looking for more advice. My husband attended his IR-1 visa interview in Dublin 20th June, was refused based on needing more documentation, particular proof of my US domicile. Context - I am a US citizen, my Irish spouse and I got married in Ireland in 2021 and have been living here together the past few years, always with intention to come back to US to settle. I have submitted several documents but nothing has been approved: - Bank statements - credit union, savings, checking, credit card, student loan, Roth IRA, investments
- My tax transcripts/returns
- Voting registration/voting records
- A notarized sworn statement from my parents confirming me and my husband will be residing with them upon our arrival in US.
- Valid PA Drivers License
- Proof of me wiring funds from Irish bank account to US bank account
They don't give any feedback either, so hard to know what the issue is with our documents. It simply states, "document does not meet requirements, please delete" ?? I know people have mentioned applying for jobs in US while here in Ireland but I fear doing that too early before we know if and when my husband's visa is going to be approved. Any input from people in similar situations is greatly appreciated thanks

Our I-130 was approved April 25th. We are submitting to Dublin Ireland Embassy. I m sorry I just need to vent and maybe some insight on a timeline? Is our lawyer taking an unreasonable amount of time, I m not trying to sound impatient- I realize immigration law is complex and there are things behind the scenes that I am not aware of.. I just can t wrap my head around filling out an application with info our lawyer has had for a year just now being filled out and I m struggling really bad. My husband and I have been long distance for over 2 years now and we are not in a good spot. I think both of us are overwhelmed and over everything, I hate seeing what this process has done to us. I have always held onto hope and faith that this chapter is almost over and everything will be okay when he s back home. Waiting over a year for I130 to be approved, I thought that was the hardest part over with but now we re waiting to wait again. I understand the NVC will take time as well and it seems easier to wait when it comes to immigration officers because it is what it is we re all waiting on them. But waiting on my lawyer to fill out these documents to submit to NVC is almost destroying me. Is this a normal time line for submitting documents? She has had all of our info this whole time, and her emails to ask questions etc to fill it out just seems to me that she could have had all this figured out before this.. idk. It doesn t help she s tik tok famous, posting all the time, so everytime I see her pop up I get angry all over again like can you maybe go fill out some forms? Ah idk. Our I-130 was approved April 25th. We are submitting to Dublin Ireland Embassy. Marriage- I am from US. Living in US while he is stuck in Ireland.
