Hey Hows it going everyone? I am the petitioner and i am sponsoring my spouse. I am currently at the NVC stage and one of the requirements is a Police Record. Originally my spouses interview location was Baghdad, Iraq U.S. Embassy, but it got relocated to United Arab Emirates (UAE). Baghdad US Embassy requirements for the Police record states that (1) All Iraqi police certificates issued by The Directorate of Criminal Information in Baghdad must be certified by The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). This MOFA stamp is a commonly missing element and Post will not accept the police certificate without it. It should be on the back of the certificate at the top of the sheet in the box marked MOFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (2) Police certificates issued in the Kurdistan region (Erbil, Sulaimaniyah and Dohuk) are not acceptable for Immigrant Visa application purposes. FYI, we live in Erbil and not Baghdad, as the interview location has changed, can i get a police certificate in Erbil or does the condition that it must be from Baghdad still apply?

Hi all, Wondering if anyone knows if the request to reschedule an interview can be done via online message system through the MyUSCIS account? I m waiting for my interview to be scheduled and anticipate a delay once USCIS offices open, so I will travel to be with my husband (his case to join me is currently at NVC stage). His home country still has all flights suspended so once I get there, there s no easy way out until further notice Would I be able to re-schedule my interview online if it gets scheduled while I m stuck there? I m not looking for advise not to travel - my mind is set on that I am just trying to plan for eventualities that my naturalization application moves faster than anticipated.

Has anyone encountered NVC asking for documents they already have approved? Has anyone followed directions EXACTLY, have the appropriate requested document and it still get rejected? And all they say is "replace with appropriate document". Anyone double check the requested documents, call NVC, inform them of this and they send it back for document review. Then it comes back messed up (ie they changed the labels on the documents to something that makes no since at all.... They changed the label from "military record" to "military record - marriage record" . ). NVC is making me crazy. Has anyone actually been able to talk to the document reviewers themselves?

Hi All, Hoping to find someone who's been through this and can help where to start My husband has a bachelors in chemical analysis from his home country and we are trying to find out what needs to be done for him to work as a Clinical Lab Technician here in the US, once he arrives. So far we were able to find out that certain states require certification, and many states don't (such as the state I live in, NJ). However, we seem to not use the right terms in google to find any information on what needs to be done before he can apply for a job. Thinking equivalency exams (like we saw for pharmacy), or any other tests to confirm that his degree can be used. Anyone here with insight?

I am a US citizen who has been living abroad. I got married in October of 2017 and I am currently working on my spouses IR1 visa. I don t have any tax transcripts to be included with my i864, as my wife doesn't have a social security number or an ITIN number. I am aware that my wife can obtain an ITIN number, but I looked at how much gross income I made during previous fiscal years whilst married and it didn t exceed the minimum filing threshold to file jointly, so I didn t apply for one. Would my joint sponsors i864 and his/her tax transcripts alone suffice if it exceeds the minimum requirements?
