US Immigration from Indonesia

Hello all,

I just received an email from NVC stating that they will work with the embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia to get an interview date for my parent (IR5). Does anyone have any idea how long does it takes for the NVC to obtain the date?

Me and my wife want to travel to Indonesia while her AOS is being processed since we are married after she came to the USA with a K1 visa. We plan to file the I-131 under her legal name which is different than her name on her Indonesian passport.

We plan to book her ticket based on her maiden name since that is her name on her passport so there is no issues flying to Indonesia. We are worried that since we will file the I-131 under her official married name it will cause problems during reentry since her passport has her maiden name. Are we overthinking it?

Do you guys have any suggestions or experience with a similar situation? Thank you!

Does the US embassy in Indonesia require fingerprint police certificate for the countries you have stayed in? or is name check good enough?

I'm so panicking now, so my fiance went to Detroit on 10th January 2020, he paid the fee for expedite the passport process. He have upcoming flight on Wednesday 15th January 2020, the lady that handled all his documents in the Detroit agency told him that he will get the passport on Tuesday 14th January 2020. But when my fiance checked the status on his passport application, it said 2-3 weeks in the status.

How accurate the processing times? because the lady said like 100% it will come on Tuesday, 1 day before his flight.

I wanted to ask, so when my fiance went to Passport Agency in Detroit yesterday, the lady that handled his documents took the original naturalization certificate of my fiance. And she just said that they will kept it, and unfortunately my fiance forgot to ask like are they going to mail it back or no.

So, anyone has the same experience like him? And are they going to mail it back? I know I shouldn't worry as we can apply for the replacement of NC. I just don't want to spend again the money for that
