Hi All, I (US citizen) want to file GC for my parents. I have just started filing in I130 form but I see in documents required are my parents birth certificate and marriage certificate. My parents were born in 1930-1940s during undivided India and we dont have records of birth or marriage certificate. Could you please provide information of what documents do I have to submit in this case. If there is any affidavit that is required ? Thanks

Question about Address History and Employment History on Form 1-485 |

Hi everyone, Background: I am currently in the U.S. on F-1 OPT and married to a U.S. citizen (married in Dec '23). I am planning to file a Family-Based Green Card AOS application soon. I have a few questions regarding how to fill out the address and employment history sections in the I-485 (and I-130A). Address History: I came to the U.S. in 2022 for my master's degree. Prior to that, over the past three years, my living situation was as follows: - April 2019 May 2020: Rented a place in Bangalore, India, where I was working.
- May 2020 November 2020: Moved back home (to another city) due to COVID.
- November 2020 March 2021: Returned to Bangalore.
- March 2021 October 2021: Went back home for another COVID wave.
- October 2021 June 2022: Back in Bangalore.
- June 2022 August 2022: Returned home before flying to the U.S.
During this time, I continued to pay rent for my house in Bangalore but didn't have a formal lease (as it was an informal arrangement between my flatmates and the landlord). My question is: Should I list this exactly as described, or should I just show one place since I was paying rent throughout and my time back home was temporary? Would the lack of a formal lease affect this? Employment History: - During my master s program, I worked the same on-campus job, but the employment was only during the academic terms (spring, fall, etc.). Technically, it was the same job, but with a different contract each semester. Should I report this as one job or as multiple jobs?
- Should I report periods of unemployment as well? For example, I was unemployed between June 2022 and December 2022, and between January and July 2024.
- Currently, I work a full-time job while also working as a TA and Grader for a course at my university. The TA and Grader positions are on separate contracts, but I work with the same team and receive a combined paycheck. Should I report these as two separate positions or can I list them as TA and Grader ?
- If I run out of space on the form, can I attach a supplemental sheet with this additional information?
Thank you for taking the time to read through and respond to my questions!

I-751 Denied |

My I-751 was recently denied and ever since then I have been in utter shock. I filed back in Feb 2021 and last year around this time I got a notification that my case is transferred so that an interview can be scheduled. I recently reached out to my congressman for help and within a week my case was denied from field office. A part of me was expecting it since I did not had any police report, medical report or physiological assessment report and then my lawyer filed an i-751 based on abuse and battery. My evidence included pictures of abuse, written statements of those who witnessed my abuse physical and emotional, joint tax return for one year, a letter from her doctor saying I was with Taking care of my wife during her sickness which was from 2018 March to 2019 June, joint sub lease, whole bunch of pictures together, with family and ofc abuse pictures, I think I have a good address proof in form of tax returns, id cards. My question is what can I do better to refile knowing that i have limited evidence. Is it ok if I contact landlord and ask for the lease along and make reciepts for me on my name and my ex wife s name. Would that work in uscis? Additionally I have to get more affidavits cause I am putting weight on my application using affidavits. Please advice and I am yet to recieve my denial letter and my plan is to refile under divorce wavier. The reason I don t have joint evidence is because I along with my wife got into an accident within 24 hours of our wedding. She was hospitalized for 1 month and bed rested for over a year. During this time it was impossible for me to tell her to open joint account and then none of us was working. We were living in family house and were supported by her family. By the time she got back on her feet completely one she was cheating and fell for someone else secondly she was not interested in having joint stuff cause marriage was going sideways however I would still sent her money via cash app. We were together from the day we got married till March 2020 And in September 2021 our divorce was finalized based on mutual agreement. I tried to open an joint bank account but we got into an argument and she said my fafsa will get affected since she was getting it. I am really confused how do I get the Joint evidences. As I mentioned we were living in family house and Sharing our finances together I would pay $1500 every month to her step for rent and utilities. If I contact him I am sure he will make reciepts of the rent that I paid. Would that work for USCiS? He previously have given me affidavit for witnessing abuse. Please advice

Question on Foreign Earned Income in I-864 |

Hi All I am filing I-864 for spousal sponsorship and have question about foreign earned income. For the past 4 years I had taken the Foreign Earned Income exclusion so my total income in the IRS transcripts show up as $0. Based on what I've read here on similar threads, USCIS does not count this income anyways for qualification purpose, which is fine by me because for 2024, I have been working FT back here in the US and can show enough income in Part 6, question 7 (current individual income). What should I put in question 24.a - c where it asks for total income reported on Federal tax returns? Should I put $0 for each of the last 3 years or show the actual overseas earnings and provide explanation in Part 11 (Additional Information)? To be on safe side, I am also planning on adding a family relative as joint sponsor (to allay my own concerns about showing $0 income for the past 3 years). The joint sponsor is married and have been filing his tax returns as MFJ. But to provide this sponsorship, if he only shows his current income in Part 6, question 7, then what 'total income' should he show in 24.a - c? Would this just be his own income according to his previous years' W-2s or the husband+wife combined income they reported on line 9 in IRS Form 1040? Thanks
