US Immigration from Hong Kong

Hi all,

I just sent in my I-130 application for my spouse online on Jul 5 and got the receipt notice via my online USCIS account within 2 days. However since I am living abroad so I suppose the actual notice is still on its way. May I ask:

1. Will USCIS actually send me the original receipt notice by mail given that I am located overseas?

2. Is the receipt notice = NOA1?

3. I also noted that near the bottom of the receipt notice it said "Please see the additional information on the back" while there is only 1 page in the PDF receipt notice. Is it supposed to be a 2-page file?

By the way, according to the receipt notice, our case was assigned to Nebraska...

Hi fellow IR-1 petitioners,

I am the US Citizen petitioner/sponsor for my French wife, finishing up the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) form. We are a family of 3, I am only applying the IR-1 VISA for my wife. Our biological child is a US Citizen.

I am self-employed, been living in Hong Kong for almost 5 years. I am from California, we are planning to move to Colorado when this is all approved.

The latest income based on my 2019 US TAX filing I am reporting on the I-864 form, Part 6, question 24.a. is 135.4% OVER the 2020 HHS Poverty Guidelines, and my personal combined asset is in the upper $160Ks.

Since the reported income on the I-864 form is over the 2020 HHS Poverty Guidelines, do I need a co-sponsor? I am concerned NVC will flag that due to the percentage isn t that much over the Guideline.

NVC reviewed our case and asked for 2018 tax transcript. We looked up on IRS and tried to get one, we found out they have different types of tax transcript.

Q1: Do you guys know whether tax transcript type form1040 type is acceptable? Has anybody submitted form1040type that s accepted by NVC?

Q2: Is it necessary to have 3years tax transcript or just the most recent one? I ve heard or been told to get the recent 3years(2017-2019) for the interview.

My fianc 's K1 visa case arrived at USEM Manila on March 3, but we relocated to Hong Kong in mid-March due to Covid-19. We have been trying in vain to get our case transferred to the Hong Kong consulate but the staff in Manila says they cannot process any transfer until they reopen for visa processing, and no one knows when that will be.

Does anyone know if it's possible to contact the NVC and have them transfer the case from one location to another? Or does the request have to be handled by the original embassy that the case was assigned to?
