Hi, Previously, I asked if here if it's possible to work while my EAD and AOS applications are still pending. I got my answer and I'm so thankful to the members who provided the great article for reference; TLDR I can if I want to but that's risking it as there have been no precedents that have gone to court. Now, I'm wondering if the same rules apply to investing/trading stocks and/or cryptocurrency? It's not employment and I will be using my own savings before coming here. Anybody have any experience and advice? It's not mentioned anywhere in the USCIS website and all I could find on the web are questions about WORKING, nothing about investing/trading. Anyone on the same path as mine? K1 fianc e adjusting to PR that's done or is doing this?

Does anyone know if Canadian RRSP account with value over USD 10,000 needs to be filed under FBAR as well? I filed non-resident status when I left Canada years ago and only kept mutual funds in my RRSP account.

Hello everybody. I need some exact and definite answer here from people who have sure answer and knowledge only and please do not answer or comment here if your not exactly sure what the answer is. I am a filipino and now a US Citizen and filed for K1 fiancee visa to my filipino beneficiary and still currently working in HongKong. Were on the stage of waiting for NOA2. My question is I am going to buy a house here in America and I have some little savings to afford for a 3.5% downpayment of the house value that I am planning to buy through the FHA loan requirements. Now some people I read on other group says that later on when my fiancee is here and we got married and does the adjustment status after our marriage they said we will be denied because for that reason that I bought a house under using that FHA LOAN??? Is that true??? They said there is a new law abou adjustment of status for the k1 fiancee visa and I have attached here the screenshot photo please read. I just dont understand because I will be a first time home owner buyer thats why I am wanting to avail that FHA LOAN because it will only required 3.5% downpayment and I have a descent job that I can afford the monthly payment of the house and other utilities bills because my income is above 125% poverty guidelines. Please let me know who ever have exact and sure answer. Thank you

Extending K1 Visa Expiration Date? |

I'm wondering if anyone has ever successfully had the expiration date on their K1 visa changed to a later date after it was issued. I don't want to get into the exact specifics, but my fianc 's visa expiration date is in April (we were planning to move to the U.S. that month) but for family reasons, he needs to be able to travel overseas in June/July. Given that he would not be able to travel for several months after entering the U.S. while waiting for his travel approval, we're wondering if we should consider delaying our move a few months. So the question is: do embassies/consulates even entertain such requests? We don't want to extend the 90-day period of course, we just want to have the ability to enter the U.S. at a later date without having to go through the entire K1 application and approval process again. We'd be willing to pay another MRV fee and do another medical exam if that was required. Any info would be appreciated!

My IR 1 visa interview is scheduled this Friday, I already did my medical. If all things go smooth my to-be-granted visa will expire at the beginning of May next year. My husband and our 3 kids are all US citizens, they don t have a deadline to check into the US soil like me. I want to wait for them to finish school year (mid of June) and contract (mid August) before we all move to the US together as a family. But it will be approximately 3 months after my visa due date. My question is, what should I do? I thought about delaying my interview appointment but with covid I don t want to risk the embassy closing its doors again. Do you think the officer can extend my visa due date? Or should I ask for reissue of visa? I don t really want to submit the documents again tho. Do I have to arrive in US with my husband (the petitioner)? In that case we really can t go before May given he is still in contract and he can t take multiple weeks off for flying back and forth plus quarantine. Any input is very much appreciated!!
