Thoughts and Prayers with Jim Hacking immigration Attorney.

Today 5/14 at 1 pm central, I will be arguing the biggest case of my legal career.

On April 22, 2020, President Trump issued Proclamation 10014 which would bar thousands of foreign nationals from getting immigrant visas to the United States.

Federal law passed by Congress and signed by prior Presidents allows foreign nationals in various visa categories to come to the U.S. and obtain lawful permanent residence.

President Trump and Stephen Miller wish to stop legal immigration to the U.S. and this Proclamation seeks to exclude:

Parents of U.S. citizens
Spouses and children of lawful permanent residents
Adult children of U.S. citizens
Brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens
Employment based visa seekers (except those working in health care)
Diversity visa winners

We filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington DC to try and stop the Proclamation. We are asking Judge Amit Mehta to halt the ban as it is contrary to the Immigration & Nationality Act.

The hearing is this afternoon.

The government has lots of arguments why we cannot prevail, but we filed a solid brief in response.

If you are so inclined, please send us positive thoughts, prayers and blessings our way this afternoon.

We could really use it.

Thank you.

PS - if you would like to hear the argument (which may be me getting crushed by the judge :) ), you can listen by calling (877) 848-7030 at 1 pm central, access code 321-8747.

Hi. My MIL was approved in March right before they lockdown for coronavirus. She cannot leave her country and with Trump new order I don t know when immigrants will be allowed into the USA. Her visa is good for 6 months, what happens if it expires because of the coronavirus and the ban is still going on?

Hi guys. So I ve had my interview cancelled due to COVID-19 and that s quite ok. My problem is my husband. I honestly can t stand the man any longer. Everyday he comes with an argument and It s gotten so bad that I end up cursing my kids due to the frustration. I pray about it a lot and sometimes I ignore him but there are times when I just can t. We have a 2 yr old daughter together and I have Another daughter from a previous relationship. He gets mad for everything. I would record our arguments but that s the only evidence I have. I m at my wits ends especially now that I have to be locked up in the house with him everyday.

I have an issue. Me and my 10 year old twins applied for i485 in July while our i130 applications were pending based on my marriage to a usc. Mine was rejected for using l forms but the twins were accepted. Eventually I refilled in August and so out pd is one month a part. Coincidentally my i130 was approved August and the twins were approved in September. They got their combo cards in December 2019 and I got mine two weeks ago. So here is the dilemma, the girls had their green card interview in December. My husband and I went to the interview with then. We both answered questions. Their case was held for review but last week it was approved. Last month my interview was scheduled for next month. I don t think this is going to happen in light of the Coronavirus being in town. My question is, how can they approve the dependent before me? Would I get automatic approval?
