Hi all,

We just sent the i129f for K-1 with my fiance. I read a lot of comments regarding the fact that consulates are now closed for interviews and there will be a big queue the upcoming months. However I believe 1) until our app is reviewed may things are better (or not so bad at least) 2) I dont believe there will be a lot of pending interviews in Greece especially for K1...

Is this something that should we worry about based on the country? We would prefer to stay to K1 instead of marriage to a third country for now...

Thank you!

Required evidence during filing vs. at interview

My window for early filing my N-400 opens this weekend (3 year case) and I am planning to submit my application online. I have been reading the forum posts as well as the most recent version of the instructions for N-400 on uscis.gov (valid through 09/30/2022), and I am a bit confused regarding the volume of required evidence (as it looks much different, and I dare say much simpler when compared to my prior AOS and ROC applications).

On page 10 onward ("Required Evidence") it states that, in my case, I only need to submit Photocopy of Permanent Resident Card and Photocopy of Current Legal Marital Status Document. That's it? No photographs (since I reside in the US), no proof of my spouse's US citizenship, no birth certificate for our child, no continuous residence proof, no taxes... should all this only be brought to the interview? (Page 11: "Below is a list of documents to bring with you to your Form N-400 interview")

The instructions make it seem very straightforward and clear-cut, but because there are several outdated guides (including the checklist here that explicitly mentions photographs, and even an older USCIS guide!), and my prior experience with AOS/ROC required binders of front-loaded applications, I am getting paranoid that I am missing something. Is it really that simple for the application?

Thank you in advance and I apologize if my question is really *that* simple...

USC spouse name change question

I have a question regarding Part 10, question 4 of the N-400 form. My USC spouse changed his last name after we got married (to hyphenated including my last name), so this would be his current name (4.A). However, long before we got married, he had officially changed his first name. I am going to give an example with toy names to clarify: he was born as "JOHN PAUL JONES" and he changed it to "MARK JOHN JONES" (He got a brand new first name, moved his original first name to middle name, and he dropped his original middle name ("PAUL") altogether). After we got married his name is "MARK JOHN JONES-GRECO".

All this has been documented when I was going through my AOS from F-1, and we had submitted all court documentation and had it discussed during our joint AOS interview. My question is regarding fields 4.B and 4.C of this question. Should the "Current Spouse's Previous Legal Name" be the one he had right before we got married (MARK JOHN JONES) and 4.C. "Other Names Used by Current Spouse" be his birth name, or I am missing something? Of course we will submit the court document proving the name change again.

Nuance on "child's relationship to you" question for same-sex couple

My husband (USC) and I (same sex couple) welcomed our daughter to the world earlier this year. As I am preparing to file my N-400 application next month, I have a question regarding Part 11 of the application.

We went through the IVF and surrogacy route, and our daughter is biologically my husband's. However, the state of Texas where we reside does not make any distinction between the biological and non-biological father in the birth certificate or elsewhere (including the sealed court case that grants us parental rights), nor was I required to legally adopt our daughter.

The options given by USCIS for this form are "biological child", "stepchild", and "legally adopted child", and I don't think our case falls in one of these categories. I know it is probably a technicality, but it would give me duress to state that my daughter is a stepchild or a legally adopted child to me, when this is not the case. Has anyone else been in the same situation?

Does anyone have the P3 for Greece? I don't mind if it's an outdated version, just need something to work on before the embassy send me it.
