Hello everyone, I need help please. After getting my work permit, my wife has refused to work. I pay all the bills, I have a discussion with her but she said doesn't like to work. I have never hear that before in my life. Now, I saw on her phone, she is already talking to a guy and I saw another text messages telling her mother I am just a baby sitter for her kids and that she will leave me soon. I worked 12 hrs Monday to Friday to be able to pay the bills. All she is complaining about is sex, that I only have Saturday and Sunday to stay at home and all I could do is sleep and I don't have much time for her. After working 12hrs for 5days, I think I need some rest but my wife is not reasonable and I told her she needs to work so that she can help with bills and that will give me the opportunity to reduce my hours at work and spend more time with her. Now I can tell by what I saw on her phone, she is planning to leave. She told her mother I am selfish and she will leave soon and am just a baby sitter for her kids and I saw she talking to another man already. I have record of all am saying. Alot is going on with me, this is a lady I have done so much for and I can't believe she said am just a baby sitter and she is already talking to a man. What can I do please . I need help

Filing for adult daughter

Hi,

I need some help and hoping I can get some answers on where to start!

I brought my mom here 7 years ago, but she hasn't applied to be a citizen yet and we are thinking of filing for my sister who is 33 years old, with 4 children and 1 due in March. My sister is married traditionally per our custom, but not at the court level, so legally she's not married.

What would be the best way to file for her?

1) should I file for my sister since I'm a US citizen.

2)Should my mom file for her with her permanent resident status or should she wait till she is a citizen to file

3) when we file, should we file for just my sister and probably the newborn as her being unmarried or married? We just don't have the funds to bring all her children with her. So the plan is she gets here, work and then go get her children and her husband.

Please advise me on the best way to do this and if anyone have an idea of what time-line we'll be looking at.

Thanks.

Hi

My husband and i got married in 2022 and he filed an i-130 last year(2023) we got approved and the case is at NVC currently for the next step

The problem is when filing he used his surname for the forms

but my passport has my maiden name since i had it done before we got married

All other documents are in my maiden name but my name on the case file shows my husband s name

the lawyer said to get a new passport in my husbands name or else my green card will have my maiden name

i dont mind that but will it be an issue during the interview?

or do i have to officially get a name change document?

Has anyone had a similar issue or has heard anything like this before?

what do i do please?

Can an IR-5 parent visa applicant who is DQ'd travel to the US on a B1/B2 tourist visa while they wait for an interview date? (Ghana)

Backstory:

-My mother-in-law has a B1/B2 tourist visa that she used for a 178-day stay (April to September 2023). It is valid for multiple entries.

-She also has been documentarily qualified (DQ'd) for an Immediate Relative/ Parent Visa (IR-5) on 1/2/24.

-It is my understanding that the wait time to receive an interview letter (IL) at the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana can be lengthy. (But there is also some evidence that wait times are going down/ less than one year @nene kwaku )

Question:

-Would it be advisable for my MIL to travel here on her existing tourist visa and then simply go back when she receives her IL? My inclination here is it's probably not a good idea, but I'm wondering whether others have different thoughts.

Reason for question:

-We have some child-care needs that she could help with, and we don't mind paying the extra costs in airfare. But we would not like to jeopardize her IR-5 visa in any way.

Thank you!
