Steps after NOA2 |

So, I understand as the petitioner the next steps after the NOA2 is to receive a welcome letter from the NVC, then fill out the affidavit of support form, pay fees, and provide financial documents. However, I m looking for any information on anyone who may be further ahead in the process than me. I received the NOA2 in early March, never received a welcome letter though. I ended up calling the NVC in May to get my case number and it s been crickets ever since. Basically I m wondering if I should have received this welcome letter already and if I should have already sent in the support form and financial documents. Anyone have current experience with this? Did they just quit sending these welcome letters out when Covid hit? A bit confused because the website says they are now processing applications for August 18th. What in the world does processing applications mean if they aren t forwarding anything to the embassies? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I entered the USA on a K1 (fiance) visa in February and am currently going through AOS for a green card. Last week I finally received my employment authorization, which I needed to be able to get my drivers license in Georgia. Today I went to the Dept of Drivers Services fully expecting to finally be allowed to get my license, but their system spit out that my documents needed to be submitted for secondary verification at DHS. From the reaction of the people at DDS I assume that this is not something that usually happens, they seemed a bit surprised and even went back and reentered all my information twice thinking they had made a mistake. I'm therefore wondering what happened, hoping that someone here might be able to shed some light on this. I had to give my phone number and am supposed to be getting a call in 7-10 workdays about this from DHS. That is all the information I was given. I just hope there is no typo in my phone number. I'm a bit uneasy about not having anyone to contact in case I hear nothing in the coming weeks. Have other people here experienced this? Can you tell me if this is a routine procedure or if it means something in my documents was flagged as a potential risk or something? Thank you for your help!

Hello , i am really clueless what to do, I received an Rejection Notice today, but neither me nor my husband understand what the problem is. It basically states that the payment amount is incorrect, I put in a G1450 with my package and the authorized fee was 1225$. I m in category C9. i spoke to uscis, they couldn t help me and said the fee should have been correct so I asked to speak to a higher manager. 5 hours later I get a call and the officer can not help me either. She told me to use the online calculator and send an email to lockbox uscis. So I used the online calculator and it told me 1225$ was the correct amount. now I called them again and another employee told me, the correct amount should be 1225$. I did send an email to the lockbox but it said a reply can take up to 30 business days. She told me I can send in the paperwork that they send back to me, all I have to do is send a new 765 because the form changed in August, and send in a money order instead of a G1450. I would really like to know, what you guys think of this situation. They send to me a table with the NEW fees, which are starting in October so I believe someone might have made a mistake and thought I would have to pay the new fees?! How can I ensure that I do not get another RFE? what I send in with my original package: G1450 (authorization of credit card) I485 (with I864 and I944) I765 I131 all evidence anyone could think of (Highschool diploma, bachelors, everything mentioned on the forum) I also took the time to write cover letters for each part of the application. Can Someone please help me? I am very upset and feel frustrated. thanks in advance below parts of my email to the lockbox: The fee as of today consists of 1140$ for the filing fee and 85$ for the biometrics fee. Because filing takes place after July 2007 and is filed alongside the I-485 there is no fee for the I131. Additionally, there is no fee for the I765. The relevant category (C9) is an exemption category if filed after July 2007 and the full fee for the I485 is paid. With the original package I ve send in a G1450, with an amount of 1225$ on it. Unfortunately, neither me nor my husband understand what the problem with the payment is. I called the hotline and your employee was not able to enlighten me, as she also said the fee should be correct. I asked to talk to her supervisor, which called me back 5 hours later, to tell me she cannot help me, and that I should go to the online calculator to find out, what the fee for my paperwork is. I did put in my information on your online calculator, and it also stated that I am supposed to pay 1225$. I will send a screenshot with this email. I talked to Officer xxx, which provided me with this email address. Please let me know, what the correct fee is, and how you would prefer to receive the money, so I can ensure that I can take care of the issue. If there is any further reason for the rejection I would really like to know, what the issue is, so that I can take care of it properly. If there is another issue, please tell me, how I can improve the paperwork.

So I send my AOS in about a month ago and just got an RFE regardig the I-864 of our joint-sponsor. Our joint-sponsor makes more than enough, BUT he is a partner at an LLC and, thus, legally considered self-employed. Also the LLC has filed for extention for the tax return and due to this and COVID, the 2019 tax return of our joint-sponsor will not be available until October 15, 2020. We did, however, write a letter explaining this and why we did not submit the 2019 tax return of our joint-sponsor (we also made sure it is clear that we will bring the 2019 tax return to my interview). Despite all this, we got an RFE today saying that we need to submit the tax return for the most recent tax year. For context, here are pictures of it: Here is what we submitted with the I-864 of the joint-sponsor: - I-864 - Copy of Joint-Sponsor s Biographical Passport Page - Explanation of Tax Return Transcript Availability - Letter from the Employer Verifying Employment and Income in 2019 & 2020 - Copies IRS Tax Return Transcripts of the Joint-Sponsor (2018, 2017, 2016) - Copies of Joint-Sponsor s Pay Stubs (recent three months) I hoped they would accept this, but apparently it's not enough. Any ideas on what I can submit to answer this RFE? We were thinking maybe the extention letter from the IRS? But that's clearly not enough... It's just really annoying, because we just currently can't get a copy of the 2019 tax return. We have not included any assets in the I-864, but we could... Would that help us? (Also not sure how much they need to add up to (household size: 4)) Any advise is greatly appreciated!

I'm working part time and don't get any benefits which is kinda ok since I'm covered under my husband's healthcare. He's military, we still have a couple years to go and that means quite some moving around and changing jobs so who knows if I'll ever get offered a 401k and if, it probably wouldn't even make sense to contribute to it in the long run. That's why I'm thinking about starting a private plan but after reading up on it I'm kinda lost. The regulations are just weird and I would need something that I'm allowed to contribute when I work and also during times when I'm not ( IRA and Roth only allow to contribute when I earn money while a spousal IRA would only allow contributions from my employed husband FOR me and I have to be unemployed ( at least that's my understanding. )) Does anybody have tips and/ or experience with private plans?
