German with a complicated marriage

Hello!

I've asked this question in a German fb group already and got told to ask my question here.

My Husband was a service active duty member for 10 years, got medical seperated like 2 Months ago.

We are together for 3 years and married for 1.

he has struggled with alcohol and mental issues the past 2 years. we went to Familie advocacy, had marriage counseling, I had to call the German and base police 3 times. he got no contact orders and now a provisional order though the german court.

he started to take pills and acted normal for the last couple months so I "kinda "paused the provisional order.

In this time he filed the I-130 for me and my 2 older Children because he was normal, seperated and I was then ready to move with him. he filed like 2 months ago and I've got a email that the Embassy in Frankfurt Grermay has started the process. my husband started to take his pills only infrequently, which we all have felt.

I had to go back to the police and now hes not allowed to come back home again.

I dont want to cancle the application. he doesnt want to eather. maybe one day he will go on a treatment.

But I don't know how to handle the GC situation now. Some people tell me to file for Vawa, some say I should not change anything. what would be the best solution?

we have one child together

we have a house

finances together

i also have proofs for black mail, emotional abuse with screenshots, security forces documents, german police and the provisional order.

What should I do? get a lawyer?

I probably read it a dozen times before it made sense. Countries under Presidential Proclamation 9993, can receive exceptions and have their K1 processed if they have a child (US citizen)

Hello everyone, hope someone can help..

We filed I 485 with I 765 and I 131 back in February. But didn t include my medicals in the package, since I was still missing some vaccines. I had the medical examination in Germany back in October (so it s about to be one year), and I m trying really hard to find a surgeon here in the USA to file I 693 for me without having an additional examination! I m in Houston, Tx - any recommendation?

..when does my medical from Germany expire?

Hi! We are applying for an AOS from a J-1 visa (we already got the 2 year residency requirement waived). I am a US citizen and we are applying from within the US. I am mostly worried about whether I've captured everything we need for the I-131 and I-765 forms... thanks!!!!!

Wedding in America or Germany

Hello there,

my fianc and I are getting married in June 2021. We currently live in Germany and we try to move to the US in June. Now with Covid we are unsure about the wedding being placed in America. We already talked about having a civil wedding in Germany and move afterwards. I tried to research a little bit in advance but couldn t figure out what would be the best option. As I understand it s easier to get the K1 and get married in America instead of having a civil wedding in Germany. Is that correct?
My fianc wants to travel back home next year in January to get everything going (Job, living situation...)
All the forms and applications are confusing. Maybe there is someone else with the same situation right now or has been there recently who can help us.

I m thankful for any help and sorry if that topic has already been talked about and I couldn t figure out where to find it.

Stay safe

Jess & Nick
