US Immigration from Germany

Hello All

I thought I would make a thread for Germans or applicants whose application is destined for Frankfurt embassy Germany or who have their CASE COMPLETE at NVC and are waiting for an Interview to be scheduled at the US Consulate in Frankfurt!

It might make it easy for us to keep in touch and update each other!

Both German language and English language is allowed on this thread.

My husband (beneficiary) has an extensive travel and work history due to his profession (mainly business related in different countries)

He has work experience in Oman (full time sales), Dubai (UAE, full time job in marketing/sales), Germany (part-time tutoring in his university while simultaneously completing MBA in International Management).

He has travelled to Romania (internship at University), London, France and Italy on vacation ( all lasting less than a week).

He is an Indian citizen. He has possession of all his old/expired passports.

He had purchased valid visas in order to visit those countries and he never violated any visas while working in those countries.

I have to get police certificates from Oman, Dubai, India and Germany at the Embassy/consulate stage which is in Mumbai, India.

--We also have a 5 year old USC daughter and am trying to gauge how long this will take (other than the usual 12-18 month processing).

My i-130 is not yet approved, however, I am just trying to see what to expect because of the travel history.. and work history.. Thanks for all the advice.

I received my immigrant visa (CR1) yesterday and I consider about moving. Besides I still study in Germany and I would like to come back in February to write some exams. So my question is when would it be possible to travel back after entering the US. Should I receive SSN and GC first? How long will it take?

i just immigrated to the US yesterday and i completely lost focus on what to do next.

my things what im gonna do now are:

- write resume, drop it off at company

- get a US phone number

- update address at dmv (cause i got my drivers licence as an aupair already)

Uscis officer told me my Green card could take up to a year to arrive and since i also have my ssn obtained as an aupair this would be likely the same.

Can you edit my list with maybe some links so i can look up what to do as well?
