I finally got my interview date for my IR-1 visa and naturally I am not going to spend the next four weeks worrying until it s finally here. I read in a lawyers article that a reason for denying an IR-1 visa could be a big age difference. My husband and I are 16 years apart in age and met when I was 23. Could this be seen as negative? Is there something I could do preemptively to avoid anything like that? Bringing extra pictures with our families and such to show that everyone in the family is supportive of us? I m so worried now

Hi everybody, We just scheduled my IR-1 interview in Frankfurt for November. We went through all our documents and found a mistake on my DS-260. My Passport was issued on August 11, 2015 and expires August 10, 2025 - in the DS 260 these dates are November 8 2015 and November 8 2025. I think our attorney s paralegal got confused with the date format on my passport - I am aware I should have double checked, but that ship has obviously sailed a few month ago. Is there any way to change those dates? Is it going to cause major issues or delays, will we have to go back to the NVC stage?

Hey there, sorry i'm bothering you but i'm still not quite sure if we have to mail our documents to nvc. So when i check out the status on the ceac website this pops up: Action required Submit requested documents. However everyone keeps telling me that this is just a generic message and everyone gets it. Has anyone ever after uploading everything online send the scans of the documents via e-mail as requested? The NV website states: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/submitting-documents-to-the-nvc.html Submitting Documents to the NVC Mail Processing Only mail documents to NVC if instructed. Submitting documents by mail when not instructed to will delay the processing of your case. After you collect the financial evidence and supporting documents, you must submit all required items in ONE package to NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you don't submit all of your documents at the same time. Can anyone tell me if we have to send an Email to NVC with the scans??? Nothing is happening since 21st of July....

My husband tends to threaten me with divorce when he feels not heard. This is clearly a marital problem. This morning, however, he called me and sounded more serious than usual and as our state requires a one hear separation time, he conveniently thinks we can just "pretend" we were living separate for a year. Our state allows to live in the same house and deem it as separate. He did, however, move out June 1st because he got transferred. I did not fully realize, he was not just moving but moving on. We just went through the LPR/citizenship process with my kids last year. If he retroactively changes the separation time to October although we were clearly still living together (I have pictures, messages, finances etc), can he seriously threaten me with my children's LPR/citizenship status? My children got their LPR status based on our pending change of duty station (move back to the US). They naturalized automatically (I am a US-Citizen, as well) upon being admitted. My husband started having second thoughts about our marriage a few weeks ago and moved to a new (job) location in June. However, if he changes the dates all the way back to October ,I wonder if this would cause a situation with USCIS or the State Department sometimes later. I have suggested counselling, therapy etc but in the end of the day the two of us need to work on the marriage not just one. I just don't want to have issues with USCIS or the State Department later for accepting a shorter separation time. I honestly don't even see why he is rushing now but it would help me to hear your take on this. I am struggling to think straight right now. Sorry.
