Expedited request

Hello All,

I ve just started with the process for my girlfriend to get the visa expedited. We currently live in Germany together and we are having a baby. I m a disabled veteran who struggles with anxiety and depression. I m wanting to move back to the US for better healthcare and VA healthcare access. I received a job offer that allows me to move rather quickly, in about 6 months. And I was wondering what are the chances of expedited based on humanitarian or any other category.

I recently submitted an expedited request online but the chat didn t ask for much info. I got denied for the expedite but I m currently pursuing one with the Senator of Florida. Does anyone have any experience on this? What are the chances or ways I should phrase it to really get the point across?

My anxiety and depression will kill me if I m away from my gf and baby when he s born. They fully depend on me financially. Not sure if financial loss (having to pay for everything here plus housing for myself going back to USA) is a way to submit it. Please let me know your thoughts!

Green Card the second time around

Hello there,

my husband (USC) and me (German) are currently applying for the green card the second time around. I had originally been issued a green card in 1999 but as a family we returned to Germany when my husband was PCSed. As we knew that his last two years in the military would be spent outside the US I decided to stay in Germany. Raising a child is much easier with family support ;-)

Now my question is, we have gone through the entire process once before, our family situation has not changed in 27 years, we are both living in Germany at the moment, .... will it have any impact (positive or negative) on the second application. As we really got burned twice in the original process, I would love for this one to go a bit smoother.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated, there simply don't seem to be any on the internet.

Thanks for the help!

Hi VJ-family,

I have received an Offer Letter from my employer to accept a position in the US.
They are aware, I ll enter the US on May 16, where i will get the I-551 stamp, giving me authorization to work.

However in the offer letter, it says I m required provide a SSN before my start date. My start date is May 22, from what I ve read on here, I won t have the Social Security Card by then, which I opted to get on the DS-260.

Do you guys think that s a problem?
am I allowed to accept the offer letter anyway?

Thanks!!

Electronic signature on intent to marry

So, I'm pretty pooped. Apparently you cannot sign the intent to marry digitally and I did. I didn't and still don't have a printer at the time to print the document, sign, scan and forward to my fiance to send off our package with.

Kind of struggling with beating myself up about it and at the same time kind of being upset that we were not being informed about this by the attorney firm we chose. Because really we paid them so that mistakes like these wouldn't happen.

I guess I just assumed it would be fine. When I got my passport, I had no choice but to digitally sign that thing either. Maybe it's a different thing because theres a representative sitting across from you watching and it's a device supplied by the town hall I had to go to?

Anyway, I e-mailed a representative from the firm about it and they said, yea, most likely it's gonna result in an RFE. Jaw to the floor, since that's kind of my worst fear. Frantically told my fiance who in turn then called them directly.

They said, that if they notice, which they might not, it would take us literally minutes to re-submit the document signed by me with a physical signature. It shouldn't put months on our processing.

Regardless, it really (removed) sucks. I'm gonna print out and scan the document elsewhere and pay for it in the case, that we do get an RFE. Get it over with as quickly as possible.

I guess this was kind of a vent but also to let others know who were not aware of this, to not do what I did lol. Just recently I saw somebody inquiring about it, which led me to e-mail them in the first place. Also, please don't be mean to me about this, I'm beating myself up enough as is.
