US Immigration from Germany

Hi everyone,

I am confused about the I-864 affidavit of support. I have enough income to meet the poverty guideline threshold, but it is not a significant amount more. I wanted to voluntarily use my dad as a joint sponsor as a safety net for our application.

I am currently living with my dad so at first I thought he should use form I-864A. Is it true that the I-864A cannot be used if the main sponsor makes enough income? Would he be able to just be a general joint sponsor (rather than a household member) and use the I-864 even though we live together currently?

I arrived in the U.S. in the beginning of March on a K1 Visa and I got married before everything closed. Now we re finally getting ready to send our AOS. My husband graduated in March und should ve started his first real job in May.. Through the Corona Crisis he couldn t start in May and probably has to start in late June, early July. My husband works at DoorDash now to at least make some money during that time and we re not gonna file for unemployment.

The mom and dad of my husband are our joint sponsors for the greencard but we don t live with them and his dad is in our lease for our apartment too.

My question now is if I should put his parents in the I-944 too in the household because they still have my husband as a dependent on their tax return and his dad is on our lease or not? If we don t put him on there our income is too less because my husband only made about $10.000 last year (I made about $40.000 but I don t know if that really counts because I lived in Germany when I made that money).

I-130 NVC Stage: VJ lists that court records need to be submitted and/or brought to the interview.

If you have ever been a witness in court (not in person only on paper in form of an affidavit) in order to support someone in a case does this count and do I have to mention that? Name is listed on final verdict as witness

i just wanted to see if anybody who filed late April also didn t got their NOA 1 yet?

we filed I-485 with an approved I-130 (we had to change from Consular Processing to AOS) and it was received April 28th by the Chicago Lockbox with the Signature by J. Chyba.

i know it s not 30 days yet but kind of starting worrying.

I am starting a new post for December 2019 filers of i-130 for parents. Please join to share your journey/process. ( Admin: i couldn't find any thing for December deleted if not allowed)

- I file for my Mother on 12-2019.

- Received the Priority Date 12-2019

- Received the Notice two days later with instruction to create online account, and the service Center list POTOMAC Service Center and Assigned IOE numbers.

- On Jan 2020 Online Status Changed "In Process Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review".

as of today nothing changed still showing in process.

My Question Should i send the request for outside of process or just wait? agents might get upset?

i didn't not include G 1145 can i do it now or its too late?
