Hi everyone !

I just got an e-mail from NVC telling me the status of my immigrant visa application was updated on the CEAC website.

So I checked and saw that all my docs (IV application + civil docs + AOS docs) were accepted !

I also noticed that they sent me a note in my "Messages" saying that I need to submit every form W-2/1099 from my already submitted joint sponsor's tax transcript.

Does that mean I need to submit them on the website (and maybe have to wait for another two months) or that I need to bring them to my interview at the embassy ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Laurent

this dreadful I-944

We are applying for AOS from ESTA. The stumbling block is this ridiculous I-944 form. Our HH size is 2, my French husband and I, his USC wife. Husband had no income in 2019, and we filed 2019 taxes as MFJ. Only my income is reported there (which is more than enough for HH). I have debts like mortgage and car loan. Husband has no assets and no debts in France. So what do we report for those questions on the form, only my income and

debts?

Is it necessary to report my several bank accounts assets (we d rather avoid all those 12 mo statements, lots of paperwork) if total income reported on tax forms is more than enough for us?

Another question re: Husband s education. He has no high school diploma nor GED or its equivalent. He abandoned school at the age of 11 to start working to help his family (yes, in the early 60s it was legal in his country to use children s labor). Husband never finished his education, he is 61 y.o. and all his life worked in restaurants as server/waiter. Does he have to explain it in a separate statement, or what?

Another question re: Foreign languages. Husband speaks 6 (six) languages fluently but never had formal studying nor tests to prove his language abilities. How does he go about it?

All in all, looks like I-944 is going to be pretty empty in his case. Will his AOS package be rejected because of it?

Father of an American Citizen post divorce - Permanent Residence - dormant I-751

Hello,

I have a complicated situation. I guess everyone here probably does....

I have two questions:

1. Can a mothballed I-751 process be resurrected?

2. What right does a 50/50 custodial parent of an US citizen (5 years old) have to permanent residence? I am an American citizen and my son is an American citizen, but his father is not. I cannot find anything on the USCIS website that deals with a situation like this.

I brought my ex-husband to the US on a K-1 visa while I was pregnant with our child. Our marriage broke down and we began the divorce process before we completed the change of status. He filed the I-751, then filed for and received an 18 month extension, but he left the country before he went to the appointment. He now wants to come back. The 18th month extension is over. Any hope of getting the USCIS to pick this process up again?

If we have to start from scratch, what process do we need to go through? As a legal custodian of an American child, we will share 50/50 legal and physical custody. What type of application do we file? And how long a process is it likely to be?

Thank you!
