AOS questions

Hi Everyone,

Ugh I am overwhelmed looking at all the AOS paperwork- like I am sure we all are...

My Fiance and I are getting married in April and I was just looking over all the paper work ahead of time and I am very glad that I did.. however I do have a few questions

Our situation, I just graduated college May 2020 and Fiance Graduated August 2020- I found a job soon after graduation and I make $40k but since I only started half way in the year my 2020 tax return shows $25k which is above the limit but not by much... My Fiance started his full-time job in May as well and makes $40k also butt he also quit his job last month since he is moving to the US - and has never had to file taxes before because he's only ever worked internships and his parents own a 2nd apartment that my fiance was living in rent free when he was studying..

I guess where my worries come into play - They ask for my fiances tax returns but he obvs doesnt have any... and then also credit score which he also doesnt have but he also doesnt have any bills in his name since the apartment and everything attached to it was in his parents name..

Is this going to cause problems with the AOS paperwork. Anyone heard of someone in the same predicament? Also when the form of self-sufficiency asks for debts are they looking for US or foreign or either. He does have school loans abroad. Will his medical insurance abroad work for the form as well or should I wait to file the AOS until I can add him to my health benefits plan? And one last question- How will me changing my name after marriage affect the documents and by that I mean when I submit birth certificate or passport would they still be considered valid or do I have to wait until they have issued me new ones?

Thanks for reading and please feel free to add any advice you all have learned.. I am slowly reading thru past posts.

My husband and I submitted all of our documents on October 8th and they were accepted. We still have not received any notice that we are documentarily complete. I ve reached out to NVC over the phone with no luck speaking to an actual person and I ve emailed the AskNVC question box several times (also no answer).

This seems to be taking way too long. What else can we do to get answers about our case?

RFE I-693 Incomplete Vaccination History

We recently received an RFE due to an incomplete vaccination record on my wife's I-693.

Upon reviewing the copy of the I-693 we received, we realized the doctor checked the box for "Vaccine history complete for each vaccine, all requirements met", however she left a remark stating "patient needs to get MMR #2 shot 4 weeks after MMR#1 shot to complete MMR vaccination series".

The doctor had given my wife an MMR shot since she didn't have evidence of receiving one previously, but she never explained she would need a second shot. We're also not sure why she would complete the I-693 as she did when the vaccinations weren't actually complete.

Our question is, what's the best way to resolve this? The RFE states both:

"Please submit an updated vaccination record"

and later:

"You must provide a completed Form I-693 [...] with a completed vaccination record"

So does she need a completely new I-693? Or should it be possible to just have the vaccination record completed?

We're waiting to hear back from the doctor but honestly based on the issue with the original I-693 I really don't trust them.

Informal separation while N-400 pending

Good afternoon all,

I applied for naturalization about 3 months ago under the 3-year rule since I married a US citizen. It now appears that my wife might be looking for a separation in the weeks/months to come, most likely before my N-400 would be processed. My understanding is that as long as we were living in marital union at the time of filing (which we were) and remain married until the oath of allegiance is taken, I would be in the clear. Is that correct? We are in rather good terms and she is willing to remain married until after the oath of allegiance.

Should the separation materialize, would you recommend I inform USCIS of the separation prior to the interview? If not, should I start the interview by mentioning it so that they do not think I am being deceptive?

Thank you.
