US Immigration from Ethiopia

Visa statistics are out for November. Our embassy, Addis Ababa, issued 1,600 B1/B2s in the month of November but ZERO K1s, CR1s, etc. It's just super frustrating because when I ask them about visa processing they say it is limited due to covid. So.... people applying for business visas can't carry covid but fiances can? They've also made a statement to resume student visas soon, but no news on K1s. It is so sad how money talks, but not the families of Americans....

Just had to get it off my chest to those who understand the struggle.

Hi, I am sponsoring my fiance in Ethiopia using the K-1. My I-129f was approved and i got a letter from NVC saying they will contact soon. However this was right around March. When everything shutdown. For the past 7 mo. we have been awaiting further contact and/or interview. I wanted to login to CEAC site to try to pay and submit forms but it requires an invoice number and i have no invoice number from NVC. This is really stressful, hoping someone has expertise in how this works?

I am looking to change jobs, which means I likely won't be able to get time off for my fiance's interview, assuming our embassy will open in Jan. Is that a problem?

Hey everyone, like many others our embassy (Addis Ababa) is not processing k-1s with no information on when they will begin to. I just learned about case transfer from one country to another. Could we possibly transfer our case to another embassy for the interview? For example my fiance lived in Abu Dhabi for a while, so maybe we could transfer there? It is still at NVC now.

My wife had filled I130 for her mom and and USCIS did not approve and sent request for evidence. She then responded to the request for evidence

on July,2019 they received and since then no response.
