Hi,

1. We are submitting our AOS this week and finalizing al the forms. For the 485, it says write the name exactly as it appears on the I-29F. It has my husbands first and last name, but on the form also has a middle name. We arent sure if we should just put his middle name or NA as its technically not on the I-29F, but obviously his middle name is written everywhere on every document.

We were told once someone put N/A as a middle name and had N/A on their green card, given the new rule to literally put N/A on any blank spot.

2. The photocopy of our marriage certificate is not coming out well at all. we are going to put our real one with a note on the cover page why. i hope this wont be an issue but we dont want to chance the copy not being approved.

This is our list for the 485 on our cover sheet, can anyone let us know if we are missing anything?

1. Check payment in the amount of US $1,225 (Filing fee + Biometrics fee)

2. Form G-1145

3. Duly accomplished I-485 form

4. Copy of I-797, Notice of Approval for the I-129F petition and acceptance letter

5. Certified marriage certificate (Photocopy printed unclear)

6. Copy beneficiary birth certificate

7. Copy of biographic page from beneficiary passport and entry stamps

8. Copy of K-1 visa page from beneficiary passport

9. Copy of Form I-94, Arrival-Departure Record

10. (2) 2 X 2 size colored photos with name, date and A Number on back

11. Copy of Vaccination Documentation Worksheet, Form DS-3025

Thanks!

Caitlin

Hi,

I am currently in the process of applying for a K-1 visa. I have my case number and my petition is currently at the NVC awaiting to be sent to London Embassy. I have been looking at the DS-160 questions and the question 'are you a formed exchange visitor (J) who has not yet fulfilled the two year foreign residence requirement?'

I was on a J1 visa for 2.5 months from June 18-August 31 in 2018. I coached for a company in NJ for the summer and then sent the 30 days at the end of the visa travelling, I have since also had a H2B visa for 6 months From April-September2019. I have only just been made apparent of this, and I think this could possibly cause a problem considering I spent 6 months in NJ on a H2B visa. Can anyone clarify if the 2 year rule applies to my experience on the J1? I'm sorry, I'm just kinda worried now and need some help!

Hi all,

My husband and I are close to submitting the AOS package. NOA1 means that they "received it" right, nothing else? That is usually an email or text? Then is there an NOA2 again to let us know they approved to proceed to biometrics or how does that communication work for us to know "we are in the clear" to proceed to biometrics/interview? the timeline is a little different than the petition/etc. Let me know if the timeline I have below is correct.

11. Filing application For AOS Package / AOS Status
Sent AOS Application via post
NOA1 DATE (Received) - AOS I-485
Biometrics: Where, When, Time
Interview: Where, When, Time
Green Card Approved by USCIS
Received in mail (Permanent Residence card)
AP + EAD Status
NOA1 DATE (Received) - (AP 131 - Travel)
Approved/Received in mail (AP 131 - Travel)
NOA1 DATE (Received) - (EAD 765 - Work)
Approved/Received in mail (EAD 765 - Work)

I m American and my husband is English. We married in England in February 2020. We re filing spouse visa and just recently got NOA 2. Yay! I just submitted the I-864EZ and 3 years tax receipts. When I submitted there was a message to bring originals of any information submitted to the interview. It clearly states, You must bring all of your original documents to your interview. I had to physically sign the I-864EZ and scan it in electronically because they would not accept an electronic signature. Anyone know if it would be acceptable for him to bring copies I-864EZ and tax receipts or if I need to actually mail them to England so he has my signed one in hand? It seems silly, but I don t know how strict the interview people are and I don t want him to get there and have any surprises. Thanks!
