Hello! We just got an update on our case and it has been transferred to Vermont from California. Is there any similar situations to us and do you know why this can happen?

Thanks in advance!

Hey!

My partner and I are trying to fill the I129-F but we have some questions...

We made a letter of intent to marry and e-signed, is it valid? We e-signed some other letters, but we are not 100% sure about it

How long would it take to get some court documents from California and Denver, how can he get those? Does he need to explain them in detail?

We don't have any pics from the proporsal, do we need them?

Also do we need letters from out families? We are not very close to any of them, besides I still live at home but with super strict parents.

Hello!

My sister-in-law is petitioning for her parents to come to the USA and both I-130 applications have been approved (parents live abroad). We have decided to continue with her mother's process as her dad's case hasn't been created at NVC yet.

She made around $30k this year which is enough for her to file an affidavit by herself. However we're not sure if she would need a co-sponsor when we she files an affidavit for her father. We're willing to help as we live in the same household. We made $38k this year plus have a house, bank accounts etc.

Should we let her file only her as a sponsor for her mom and then add ourselves as co-sponsors for her father?

This article contains some possibly pertinent information for people here about how long it takes to process passport applications, and some of the hurdles involved. Ignore the political observations as you wish.

Hello all in this community and please delete this post if it s against the rules.

I am a US Citizen who filed an immigrant visa petition for my mom who, at the time, lived in Ecuador. I filed the I-130 in December of 2021.

My mom was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and she has been winning many little battles. She came to visit me and my kids in November of 2022 with her tourist visa. She was supposed to stay with us for a few weeks and return to Ecuador. We received the approval of the I-130 on March 6, 2023 and instructions on how to continue the process with the NVC and US embassy in Ecuador through CEAC.

However, my mom s health is now severely deteriorated. We ve been rushing to the ER a few times since early March and MRI after MRI we were told that the cancer has reached her lungs and the doctors indicated that she cannot travel by plane.. anymore. We are devastated and worried about the time we have with her. On top of this, while she is trying to focus on the medical treatment options we are worried about her status in the US. We are not sure if it s prudent to extend her tourist visa status or switch from Consular processing to Adjustment of Status because her authorized stay under the tourist visa expires in May of 2023.

Any recommendations you may have will be greatly appreciated.
