Hello VJ members, I hope you are all doing great!! I am a U.S. citizen and submitted an I-130 petition for my husband on March 26, 2024, followed by a K-3 visa request on April 5, 2024. Recently, I noticed that processing times for the I-130 have increased to 16 months, with no apparent efforts to reduce them. Additionally, processing times for K-1, K-2, K-3, and K-4 visas are averaging about 8.5 months, and we have already been waiting for approximately 9 months. I was wondering if it would be possible to submit an inquiry regarding the K-3 visa. While I understand the K-3 visa process is rarely utilized, my intention is to draw attention to our case. Although we are not in an urgent situation, waiting 16 months for the I-130 processing, followed by an additional year in our home country to secure an appointment, feels unreasonable. Again, I know K3 is dead... Thanks in advance, Regards, Renzo C.

I am US citizen, husband is GC holder and will be applying for Citizenship soon. What would be the fastest way to bring my stepson to US. Do I petition for my stepson. Or does my husband petition while having GC or does he wait until he has citizenship to apply and would the child become citizen immediately. Can the child come here on tourist visa and then apply for green card while here

-I met my ex 2016 in USA -He went to my country in feb 2017 and met my family, we Married Oct 2017 when I came back to USA We submitted the request to remove conditions end of 2020 and got divorce Jan 2022, I notified USCIS of my divorce in person in 2022 and sent a copy of my divorce decree, my ex husband and I got divorce due to many different things, the last months of our marriage we were trying to work things out 2021 but I had to move out, When I submitted my divorce to USCiS in 2022 I was not informed that I had to submit a waiver, I was informed to sign the waiver in January 2024 when I went to apply for my Naturalization, N400, they also kept my physical expired residential card back in 2022, I have an extension up to 2027, I contacted our local Congress man and USCIS just told them my case is pending, same thing I see online, now I have a pending I751 and a pending N 400, I have filled manyyyy inquiries and no help at all, I want to move to a different state next year but I am afraid my case will be delayed even more, I am not worried about the move, I want to know what else can I do to expedite my process, I have been waiting for 4 years now and no update since 2020, they were going to schedule an interview but they didn't.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to file joint taxes for the first time with my spouse, who s a foreign national. I need to apply for an ITIN for her as she doesn t have a Social Security number yet. I wanted to ask the community for advice on a few points I m not entirely clear about: - Applying for an ITIN: Has anyone here recently gone through the process of filing jointly while applying for an ITIN for their spouse? I m curious about the specific forms you needed and any documents that helped streamline things.
- Certified Passport in Spanish: Since my spouse s passport is in Spanish, will the IRS accept a certified copy in its original language? Or do I need to have it translated as part of the ITIN application?
Any advice or tips from people who ve been through this process recently would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
