US Immigration from Dominican Republic

Huge problem that may not be huge. When we filled out the I-130 to petition for my wife s mother, in the question that says if she has used any other names in the past or now, we answered with n/a . Then as we were filling out the DS-260, the same question appeared. Then it came to mind that she is known by many by a nickname other than her actual name (legal name). Even her fb has that nickname and I feel terrible that we made that mistake of not saying that, but it just didn t come to mind. What will happen if we now on the DS-260 simple do the same as the I-130 and put n/a again to keep it consistent? Or what is recommended instead?

So I just received my NOA1 in the mail today. I see multiple dates listed in the letter such as received date and notice date. Which date is considered the official date of NOA1? Received date, notice date, or date received in the mail?

When answering the question regarding immediate relatives living in the US, I selected no but later realized that fianc s are considered immediate relatives on the form. Should I resubmit the form or will be fine?

My BF would like to come visit from the DR. We are considering either a tourist visa or a student visa. He would like to take and accelerated English course at the local college. I called and they said he would be able to take it part time under a B2 visa or full time under a F1 visa.

The program is not too expensive and I would provide sponsorship for the student visa. What type of income is sufficient to demonstrate for support? Paystubs? Taxes? Credit cards? I have a good job and have decent amount of money coming in however I have medical loans, 4 kids, two houses and cars that have a lot of that money going out. He could stay will me during the short time so housing would not be an issue.

Which Visa would be more sure and also more beneficial to him?

So I have been a long time lurker and tried to find info without asking. However, I want to know if anyone has any tips on how to strengthen a tourist visa for my BF. He is from the DR. He has a passport. He's 34. No kids or every been married. We have traveled before to other countries that don't require visas for vacation. I've obviously been there numerous times over the years. Like many other stories, he doesn't have any super strong ties. He has a job he's been at for 4 years, family, bank account (not with much in it) and is taking courses at university. He's not well of or even middle class by any means.

Is there some magic number that the officer looks for in the bank account? Would an invitation letter from me help or hurt his case? Does this visa require a sponsorship? Should we begin aggressively saving in his bank account to show consistent deposits. I live in California, where there are not many Dominicans...would they find that strange? I'd like for him to come and meet my older kids face to face and hang out in SoCal.

I understand that with this whole COVID business this not happen anytime soon. We are prepared to spend the $160 and just try but want to try and at least have a healthy chance by being prepared.
