What exactly is a re-entry permit for? |

So, I have read a lot about re-entry permits, but I am a bit confused as to who applies for them and for what purposes. I am currently a greencard holder living in the US, and am thinking of returning to Europe to be closer to my sister and parents so I can take care of them - temporarily. At this point in my life, its something I would like to do, but it necesarily does not have to be for more than 1 or 2 years - which is why the re-entry permit has caught my attention. If I did apply for a re-entry permit, I would obviously have to change my address to the country I move to, get a job, and live there, for 1-2 years. Is this possible? What is a "legit" purpose to have a re-entry permit acepted? I would still have my credit account, but would obviously have to give up my lease and my job here in the US, if I am gone for a year or more. I suspect everyobody would have to do this if they aim to leave the country for a year, which is why I am asking. Thanks!

Hello Everyone, This website is really great and I have been getting a lot of answers to a lot of my questions. But, at this moment I am more than confused. On March 25th, I saw online that our case was approved by the USCIS so we are currently waiting for our NOA2. In the meantime, I (the Beneficiary) is trying to get ready for whatever comes next. I have been reading about the Visa Interview and what I need to bring in so many different places by now and I am just more confused. Can anyone help with a total overview on what I need to bring and whether I have to bring original documents or if it can be copies? Me and my fianc will need a CO-sponsor so I also need information about that part, if anyone can help. Thank you so much in advance and please take care in this scary time! /Simone

Hello Everyone, I hope there is someone out there who has been in the same situation as me. I am a former au pair in the US. I came back to my home country end of July 2019. I am currently applying for a K1 Visa with my boyfriend and I am trying to do everything right, so I won't ruin our chances. My question is about taxes in the US. I worked as an au pair for six months during 2019 and I assume I have to pay taxes for those six months right? I obviously don't want to pay the money if it's not what I have to do but on the other hand, I don't want to not pay, if it will affect any decisions regarding our petition. Anyone who knows anything about this? Thank you :-)

My husband has his interview in a couple weeks (world situation allowing) but we want to make sure we ll be right on how he pays his taxes when he gets here. I know Denmark and the US have a tax treaty but I can t for the life of me understand it. Once he becomes an LPR, who does he owe taxes to? Only the US? Or does he still have to pay taxes to Denmark as well? If so, how much? And how? Maybe I m overthinking it but it s confusing

AoS Interview and Affidavit of Support Question |

Good morning all, I just have a quick question about my wife and I's upcoming AoS interview. She interviewed for the K-1 with the affidavit of support, medical records, etc in June of 2019 and entered the US in July of 2019. The AoS interview letter asks that we provide the medical records as well as the affidavit of support if not previously filed. Am I correct in understanding all the forms filed in June of last year should still be current for the AoS interview next month without the need to redo new forms or do I need new copies? I'm fairly certain but just wanted to double check to avoid any issues at the interview. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
