SO my husband went to visit family at the end of March and boarders ended up getting closed. He has been stuck in Cuba since. There are no flights for him to get on to come back to the states. Come August he will have been there for 6 months. Cubans I know fall under a different rule or law that most countries. If they stay in Cuba for more than 6 months while on a green card. they will not be allowed back into the country.

Does anyone at all know if this is A. TRUE. or B. how to resolve this? He did not file for a I-131 because his intentions were not to stay except to visit family and come back.

I am lost because there is nothing online that gives me answers. His Removal of conditions is still pending. We submitted it in Jan of this year.

Hello All!
I am back - more visa fun for this couple!
my husband got here successfully on a K1, we adjusted status he is a working permanent resident woo!
In our K1 we included his daughter but she didn t join us - we did it just in case we did follow to join but the year expired already.
we d like to initiate the process to have her here too as my step daughter since I am the USC. ANY tips and timeline ideas between US and Cuba would be helpful. As her mom in Cuba wants to be fully informed before consenting to the whole thing. How long could it take? How long would it be before she can go back to Cuba etc.... thank you!

fyi - she is 4 years old. Female. Obviously not married.

Is normal span approval dates of a month or more between Wife I-130 and Stepdauther I-130

Hello to all , mostly to those of you that help our community the most with your time and advice.

I'm a US citizen, requested a I-130 for both my Cuban national wife and my stepdaughter who is single no married 10 year old and I both received notice of UCIS receiving such apps 26/August/2019.

Later on after a few months, I received the notice of action I-797 for the approval of the i-130 in behalf of my 10 year old stepdaughter only.A month has passed and I hear nothing from USCIS about neither approval or denial of my wife I-130 request case.We are worry that if both cases were to been processed separate will became an extra burden, as my stepdaughter is a minor, and the logistic problems of traveling, etc that this will create.

My question is , is normal this time gap of a month or more between mother and daughter approval times for an spouse/family/kids I-130 request?

Any help will be a blessing , thank you so much.

Edy del Vallle, worried husband/petitioner.

Hi everyone -

As I am sure all of you are doing, I check the website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gy/iv) each day to see if interviews are being scheduled. Some background. I'm American and my fiancee is Cuban and we have to go to the U.S. embassy in Georgetown, Guyana for the interview. I'm at the point in the process where the I-129 has been approved, the NVC has assigned a case number, and I've completed the DS-160s. I've just been waiting to schedule an interview and then pay the visa fees.

Well, lo and behold, about 30 minutes ago, I checked the website, and an available interview date popped up! Dec 17, 2020! I was so excited. I clicked on it to select it and then went to the payment part - but here is the kicker. I have to go to a local bank in Guyana and pay in cash before the interview can be scheduled! Sooooo.....now what?

Questions:

1) My petition was approved on Nov 5, 2019. Is it wise to schedule an interview for Dec 17, 2020, over a year later? Maybe that's money down the drain.

2) If it's wise to proceed, how can I pay for these visa fees without being able to fly to Guyana? There must be a business that does this.

Thank you all!

Lori
