Hey everybody, I am just about done putting together our taxes; filing MFJ and electing for the LPR spouse to be treated as a full-year resident. I know I have to write a separate statement to that effect, but I'm uncertain if I'm supposed to check the box that asks about Dual Status, since my spouse technically is, or leave it un-checked because we will be opting to not be treated as dual-status? What have you guys done successfully? Thanks!

Hello everyone, as you can expect, I am panicking so hard because this is something that I've been waiting for for half a year and I definitely do NOT want it to get lost or misdelivered. So despite my several calls to different USCIS representatives who assured me that despite my address still not being updated to my new one that whenever they sent my EAD card they could see that a change of address took effect and that my card would be delivered to that address, today I got my tracking number and guess what? It's being sent to my OLD address. I'm panicking super super hard, what are my options please? ( if it helps, it used to be an apartment complex) Thank you EDIT: I also applied for an SSN with it, does this mean that I'll have to go to my SSA to get one since this would be misdelivered too?

So I've been snooping around and it seems like Utah is one of those places that's not too relevant to have a thread on it's own so I decided to make one myself! Here Utah filers can discuss & share their timelines, progress, issues with their cases, etc. I'll start by adding my timeline so far: AOS sent: 10/22/2019 NOA1: 11/06/2019 Biometrics appointment: 12/04/2019 RFIE: 12/27/2019 RFIE response sent: 01/07/2020 RFIE received by USCIS: 01/10/2020 Case is ready to be scheduled for interview: 01/31/2020 Best of success to everyone out there!

Just as the title says, my husband is probably the worst U.S. citizen out there and expects me to look into and know everything related to this journey, even when we were filing for the K-1 I was the one who did everything... Leaving that small rant aside, what would be the consequences for him if he were to do this?

I am so bored out of my damn mind! I've been here since August of last year and while it was fine the first couple of months I'm actually losing my mind over this, at first I was like: "Oh yeah, prolonged vacation! Able to do and learn so much! I can finally work on all the projects I've been meaning to do for the last years! I have all these cool ideas and inspirations that I can put into work!" and more but, not having a job is killing my, for a lack of a better word, "vibe" It's as if for me to be able to function properly I need to be able to serve a higher cause, and that includes slaving myself away towards the government lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm not actually "bored" I know I have and can do a TON of stuff but not having a job just simply kills everything, my creativity, my inspiration, my ideas, etc. I really would do anything to get back the freedom and things I used to have back home, being able to transport myself wherever I wanted, have a job, earn money, studying, my friends, my family, stores even, just, everything... I know it was a trade off when we decided to venture into this, sacrificing my entire life just for the person I love but this just feels like torture by now. All in all, the things we do for love.
