Mistake with father's name on marriage certificate |

Hello! I am scheduled for an interview in three weeks at the US consulate in Guangzhou, China. This afternoon I got a call from someone on the consulate saying my dad's name on the DS-260 and my marriage certificate don't match my dad's name on my birth certificate. And indeed, I checked and they don't match (it's a very long story, but my dad refers to and writes his surnames in a particular order but they are legally, aka on his IDs and on my birth certificate, in a different order). This is entirely my fault and I am looking to fix it. I can get my marriage certificate amended to reflect the correct name, but I won't be able to do it in time for the interview. With COVID delays, it would take about six weeks to get the certificate re-issued and then extra time for my husband to send it from the US to China. The person I spoke to did just say I can mention the errors (on the marriage certificate and the DS-260) in the interview if I can't correct the mistake in time, but I'm really worried it'll be an issue. I'm also going to try calling the consulate again tomorrow to let them know I am planning on getting it amended but it won't be ready in time. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? I've seen threads on people talking about mistakes on the DS-260 and even birth/marriage certificates, but nothing on mistakes on two of them and an interview already scheduled Thank you in advance!!

Hi, My wife from Chile arrived on a B2 visitor VISA after she as here 4 months we got married and I am now filing I-485 and I-130 forms to change her status to permanent resident. Can she file I-765 to apply for a permission to work while the application is in process? In the I-765 instructions I see entries for K1 and K2 visa changes. But not her particular status change from B2 to resident. Thanks Martin

Does short term (non-ACA/Obamacare) insurance suffice for the DS-5540 health insurance requirement? Or do we have to chose a plan through the healthcare.gov exchange? We are all still living overseas and I'm confident I'll get a job with healthcare soon, however it may not be until after my wife's ir1 interview. She's planning on either showing a screen shot from the Healthcare.gov exchange showing a plan, or just signing up for short term insurance. This will suffice, correct?

Hi, I am just starting to apply for status change with file I-485. I want to fill in the files on a computer so I can make edits keep copies easily rather than use pen and ink. I am on a Mac and the only editor I can find so far that works and allows saving edits (as a copy) is Acrobat Reader. That is good enough but using Reader several fields do not allow the correct entry. For example 23.c I=(4 class of admission is B2 and only letters are allowed as an antry. Some fields should be N/A and the "/" is not allowed. Any suggestions on a PDF editor app. and or how to remove some of the limits. Preview on the Mac does not let me save files with entries. I can only save the original blank file. Thanks Martin

Hello! I am in the process of uploading civil documents to NVC. Last year my husband got my birth certificate translated. It has a stamp date of translation from July 2019. I am wondering if I can upload the same translated document? Obviously my birth certificate hasn't change, but not sure if a translation done a year ago will result in an RFE? Like I said, this is probably a silly question...
