Hi, I had my interview yesterday and I'm planning for AOS. I specifically need the 2019 documents since he started working full time in February 2019. W2s come out in January I believe - will these be usable for I-864? As for 2019 income tax return transcripts... when will those be available for usage? My most pressing question lol We don't know that much about taxes tbh and I want an approximate month we can expect them When should he start filing his taxes to get the return transcripts as early as he can? Thank you!

Hi there, The SSN app states that "if you check "Legal Alien Not Allowed to Work" or "Other" you must provide a document from a US Federal, State, or local government agency that explains why you need a Social Security number and that you meet all requirements for the government benefit." Given that I will be checking "Legal alien not allowed to work", I do not have proof of reason to qualify. It also says "We can issue you a Social Security card only if you need the number for a valid non-work reason." Were other asked for this during their attempts at getting an SSN? Thanks!

Hi, I posted in the Student Visa forum on Monday after a fairly large scare involving my F-1 status and OPT application (you can see my post if you're curious -- it got some views but no replies, haha). It has since been established that USCIS either rejected my OPT application in error OR I'm receiving the message that they've rejected my OPT in error. It has yet to be established which. Either way, my F-1 status is still valid and I am currently in the USA legally (according to my DSO; I am still a little apprehensive). Thank goodness. This was a huge wake up call for my boyfriend and I (together almost 3 years now), and we've decided getting married is our next step. We had spoken about marriage in the past and both hoped to be headed in that direction, but this made us realize how quickly things can change for us, and we shouldn't have waited this long anyways (essentially, this has moved our timeline up). We are going to the courthouse within the next two weeks to finalize this. For the I-864, his parents will be co-sponsoring me as we do not meet the minimum income requirements. Would my husband, his father, and his mother each fill out a separate I-864 with the accompanying tax information? Seeing as 2019 taxes aren't eligible for filing yet, will 2016, 2017, and 2018 be okay for the past three years of tax history? Anecdotally, if I have to resubmit my OPT application (the USCIS representative from my school is still trying to determine if it is better for me to resubmit or to reopen the case; we are still within the 60 day window from the end of my program), would it be better to save the $410 fee and just file for the EAD with the AOS application? Is there any benefit to applying for the OPT so close to the AOS?

Hi - sorry apparently I keep "hijacking" posts when I don't mean to. I'm new to these forums and I don't understand how they work yet. My husband and I are filing our I-130 documents for both me and my 13 year old son to move to Houston, Texas. Since we're doing it online, we understand the process is a little different, and I was trying to find out exactly what the differences are. We have a ton of evidence which is mostly on social media. Though I combed through some of these forums, they mainly deal with printed evidence that was mailed. Now that you can eFile and you can get archives/downloads of your information from Facebook/Instagram/Twitter, will the USCIS accept these downloads or does everything still basically have to be scans of what you would have sent in print, i.e. making collages of trip visits and submitting a .jpg of those instead of just uploading Instagram posts? Will they only accept screen caps of Messenger conversations or can you submit entire files, since our relationship history is our Messenger history - we call on Messenger, text each other every day, share photos, etc. etc. and so on. Finally, passport photos - since I'm still living in Canada with my son, we don't need to submit photos yet as far as I can tell from reading other posts in here, but can my husband submit digital passport photos? What I'm basically asking is if there are any components of the online application for the I-130 and I-130A that need to be submitted in the mail before they can start processing. Do they only want these forms or do they want the Affidavit of Support at this time as well? Does it matter? Thank you all for your time and apologies if I inadvertently hijacked your thread in order to find out some information.
