Hello and happy Friday. I am confused about credit and how it works in the USA. I have been told that my Canadian credit will follow me to the USA when I move BUT I have also been told that it will not and I will need to start from square one once I arrive. I am unsure which to believe. I know that every country is different but it would be so unfortunate to have my credit discredited (hehee) once I move. I have good credit and I would love to keep it. I am pretty sure that landlords run credit checks before approving your application and I feel as if our chances of finding a place will decrease if only one of us has credit. Does anyone know if a landlord will run a credit check for my Canadian credit if I have no US credit? Moving to the state of Minnesota from Manitoba, Canada. Also, I am aware that I will not be moving for a while as I am still waiting for I-129F NOA2 (filed Nov/6/2019, NOA1 Nov/15/2019) but I would like to educate myself now. Please feel free to share your experience below, any and all replies are welcome and appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am in the process of immigrating my parents to the US. I applied for both of them separately by submitting i-130 which have been approved and now my MOTHERS case was approved first and she has already received the NVC case number and everything. However my father has been approved later and has still not received an NVC case number. Will they somehow connect them later? Will I have to fill out an affidavit of support for both separately? Or will they add my father in the system. Will they have to attend the interview separately? They are married and live together. Is there anything that has to be done to insure that they are processed together. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi - quick question. I am the beneficiary in our I-130 application. In the section where I have to fill in my information, it asks for both a passport (Q47) and a "travel document" number (Q48) separately. I have both a Passport and a NEXUS card. Do I use my Nexus card number as a "travel document" number on the form? I do use my NEXUS number on my airline tickets. Or do I just leave "travel document" as blank and only use my passport number? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am a US citizen filing for my Canadian husband. When he turned 18, he had his last name changed from his father's to his mother's. I have a copy of name change certificate, but I am unsure where in the packet to put this, or if I even need to include it at all. His Canadian passport, driver's license, etc. are all under his current last name, but his birth certificate has the former name. Thanks everyone!

My fiance worked his first full time job Feb 2019 - Jan 2020 and he will get a new job in Feb 2020. We used his father as a joint sponsor for I-134. I think we will file I-864 around March. We would use: - W2 from first old job
- 2019 tax return transcripts (his salary was well above the poverty guideline)
- Pay stubs from new job he'll get (and I guess Jan 2020 pay stubs from old job)
- Bank statement
- Employment letter from new job if it helps and if they're receptive
Would this be adequate for AOS? We don't want his father as a joint sponsor (independence blah blah) and would like to file sooner rather than later. Thank you!
