Filling out I-864 now, but not ready to submit 2019 taxes |

Hello, we're almost at the NVC document stage. I was just going through the I-864 document again and I'm not sure what to do. We will likely be uploading things next week, however, I only just received my W-2 today. I wasn't planning on submitting my taxes until closer to April. So the timing is a little iffy with the "most recent tax year" tax return. I'm planning on submitting 2016, 2017, 2018, and my most recent W-2. Then, since my husband's interview is in Montreal, we're looking at like a 6 month wait for the interview, I can give him the 2019 tax return in case they ask for it. My income definitely isn't a problem. I just want to make sure that this is the right thing to do, since it's still pretty early in the year and taxes aren't due yet. Also, when it asks for income, should I put my base salary, or on average what I earn with overtime? My base salary alone is more than fine to be his sponsor, but my actual income is on average 150% my base salary with overtime. Thanks for any suggestions & help! I want to make sure no documents get rejected at this stage as I've heard it can delay everything.

Do we just need long form birth certificates to submit with the i130 for me and my kids? (ON & MB). Or is it the certified copy of record? Starting to get our documents ready as my husband is going to be starting the process in a couple of months.

Hey all, I just got notice from the NVC that my documents were accepted and that I will be getting an interview with the consulate. They are working with the consulate to get me an interview. How long does that process take before I find out about the interview date? Thank you!

Help! We've tried numerous times over the past few months to get me added to my husband's bank account with USAA. Instead of telling us we are missing something, USAA simply does NOTHING until we call and find out we are missing yet another form. Last night, my husband called and they told him I need to submit a W8-Ben form. But I believe this form is only for non-resident aliens working in the US? I can't work, have no income, so why is this form even needed? Or is it another form? How about the W-9? We have previously filled out a several page questionnaire from them, sent my AOS NOA letter for the I-485, my SSN, our marriage certificate, my passport page. His dad (who is deployed in the middle east) is also an account holder who 'needed' to sign the questionnaire so we already had to make an exception with USAA to get his mom to sign for him which was not convenient. We are really hoping to have a few months of bank statements with both our names on it before my green card interview (not yet scheduled). Let me know if you guys know the trick to getting a joint account with USAA. We aren't looking to leave USAA, I am just getting annoyed at how difficult it has been to work with USAA. Note: I do have my OWN US BANK ACCOUNT THROUGH RBC. But it has no money in it and nothing goes into it except money my husband gives me to transfer to Canada to pay my Canadian debts lol. I see no point in adding my husband to that account because it only gets one small transfer a month from him. Why is USAA being so difficult ?!

Hi guys! I want to begin by thanking you all for all of your help and support -- this is such a fantastically resourceful community! After the huge visa scare we had a few weeks ago (you can check my post history re: OPT rejected prior to being processed and having my legal status in question -- for anyone who is curious, my DSO confirmed with the in-house counsel that I am here legally, and I have resubmitted my OPT application), my boyfriend and I realized how precarious immigration can be. We've been together almost 3 years now and have decided to get married (tying the knot next week!!). Currently, I'm filling out and assembling the AOS package and required supporting evidence -- The I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864, I-131 and I-765. To my question: my fianc (a USC) and I know his income is under the poverty line and so we will be using his parents (also USCs) as joint sponsors. His father will fill out a second I-864 and his mother an I-864A (as they live under the same roof -- in this case, is his mother the second of two joint sponsors, or is his father the sole joint sponsor?). His parents file joint taxes, and we'll provide IRS transcripts of the 2018 filing with each application, even though it's the same return. Just to be clear about this, if we file IRS tax return transcripts, we should be okay, correct? I've read conflicting information about people receiving RFEs after submitting tax return transcripts and we really want to get this right the first time. Can we submit the I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864, I-131, and I-765 together with the initial filing with the fees, and then submit his parents' I-864/I-864A and supporting evidence a few weeks later? The reason for this is that his parents have not yet filed their 2018 return (due to some kind of a delay due to a document related to a jointly owned property with extended family). They will be filing ASAP so they can support our immigration journey. Thank you all!
