US Immigration from Canada

some of you will find their information helpful like I have for my first year in USA filing taxes! They are doing the AMA until 4PM today!

I got notice that our I-130 petition (spousal) got transferred from USCIS Nebraska service center to the Vermont service center, "in order to speed up processing"... but according to USCIS, Vermont SC has a worse processing time for I-130 spousal than Nebraska does!

Does anyone have experience with a similar situation? It seems bizarre that the stated goal is to speed up processing by transferring it to a service center with worse estimated processing times..

I am a Canadian citizen applying for the K-1 Visa and I received my NOA1 a few weeks ago. My estimated I-129F approval based on VisaJourney's estimate is May 12, 2020.

However, I want to attend a Data Science Conference in NYC (where my Fiance lives too!) that is being held on between May 8-9, 2020.

I would be funded by my University as a student (graduating first week of June, 2020) attending the conference and will probably fly back to Canada back May 10-11, 2020.

Will this affect anything in my K-1 visa journey? I've read that the customs officer has control over whether I am allowed into the states or not, but since I have a return ticket (I should probably get something more solidifying of my return to Canada like a letter from my employer) and attending as a student, would it be enough proof that I am returning to Canada?

I sought out my court documents from my theft charge a while back, it states it has been withdrawn. However, I received my RCMP criminal background check as per the Privacy Act and it states outstanding charges: theft under 5000 . I am puzzled because although I was charged, it was withdrawn and it is not outstanding. Should I look into this further? or does my court document that states the charge being withdrawn suffice?

Hi, I had my interview in the first half of October 2019 at Montreal and after the interview my passport was returned to me and I was asked to submit a document and was placed under administrative processing. I submitted the document the same day and remained in administrative processing until my passport was requested for in early December. Sent the passport right away then, and have still been in administrative processing since that time with no sign of my passport returning.

Is this normal to be placed in administrative processing twice ? I was under the impression that whatever it is they wanted to verify was completed in the 2 months after my interview and prior to asking for my passport. I emailed them and they say the case is still under AP.
