Hi, i have an interview next month. I have Tax Returns for 2018, 2017 and 2016 for the joint sponsor. Is it fine? Secondly, my wife started working last year, this year she is going to file the taxes, she doesnot have returns now? I will carry paystubs, w2 and employment letter for the interview. Please let me know if its acceptable. Lastly, do i have to carry the orignal i-864 for the sponsor and my wife too for the interview?

A thread for people that filed their AOS packet in March 2020 to share their experience to keep track of timing and updates. I'm a brand new poster, but I've been lurking on these forums for almost a year while prepping our AOS application. (My husband's been here since 2016 on an F-1 visa, we got married last summer.) We knew for awhile we were planning to file at the start of March, but I'm so glad I spotted the I-944 update in time to scramble our materials together. Luckily, we had lots of evidence but it was a lot to assemble - the biggest of our packets by far. Anyway, I mailed the entire application (I-130 (and I-130A), I-485, I-944, I-864, I-765, and I-131) yesterday to the Chicago Lockbox. Assembled it in many folders based on those who have come before me (thank you to any and all for the guidance)! Fingers crossed.

Yet another DS-5540 question that I haven't seen many answers for. We filed the i-130 from abroad and will need to upload the DS-5540 at the NVC stage. Most people seem to be going with letters from their spouses' work insurance, saying they can be added, but my husband is self-employed and uses the VA, which his spouse cannot be added to. I will need to purchase my own private insurance until I land a job with an employer in the US. However, I have absolutely no idea when I'll be approved and able to move (the Montreal consulate has a wait of 6 months for interviews) so how can I offer proof of future insurance at this stage? I have health insurance for travel with my current employer, but I don't expect that meets the criteria since it will no longer apply when I become a US resident. Is there a temporary immigrant insurance option that people recommend?

We filed in Dec. 2019 and received the NOA1 a few days later. Our Petition is at the Nebraska Service Center (NSC). One reference on VisaJourney indicates the NSC is now processing I-130s filed in March 2019 but elsewhere Petitions filed in June and July of 2019 have been approved by the NSC. Because we are brand new and don't understand the process can anyone please help explain those differences ? Thank you.

Our paperwork was approved on November 29, 2019 and told that our interview would be scheduled with Montreal. We still have not heard. When I call the National Visa Center they have no information and tell me it s based on number of Visas allowed per month. They have no idea when it work be. So frustrating. Is it going to be another 6 months, year???
