Simeone mentioned a departure tax in Canada the other day. I didn't know about this. Can anyone help explain it to me? I looked it up but found it confusing.

I will be selling my house just before we move. Will I have to pay a departure tax on it? If so how much?

I read we also have to submit a T1161 form to CRA?

I just want to be prepared for any money we may lose when we move. I want to do things properly so we don't pay more than we have to.

I am a US citizen living in Ontario with my Canadian wife. We were married last Summer in Canada and I moved here. We want to move to The States and I am scheduled to start work in The States on March 30. I will be coming back to Canada on weekends to be with my we wife. Once we sell our home in Ontario and buy one in The States, can my wife just come over and then file for adjustment of status after 90 days?

Hello I am new to this website so I am a little nervous but here is my past two weeks in a nutshell.

I had my interview on the 26th of February at the Montreal Consulate and I was given a 221g to submit a new passport.

I submitted my new passport on the 2nd of March and it got to the consulate on the 4th.

On the ceac website it says that my case has been refused since the 26th of February.

On Monday March the 9th my case has been updated to still say refused.

I have emailed the Montreal consulate for clarification on what to do next.

I'm very open to see if anyone would like to share their advice on what this means or if I should panic.
