Hi everyone, i have a general question if anyone can help me that will be awesome. so i was a canadian temporary resident on a work permit then it was expired recently and now i'm waiting on a new work permit(i am inside canada right now) i'm married to an american citizen and was suppose to have our interview last month in montreal but it was canceled due to my lack of status in canada(because my work permit expired and didn't get the new one yet). now with all the covid -19 there are restrictions with the canadian border entrance stating that only citizens, PR, students, temporary workers are allowed in the border. the problem is that in order to get my new work permit, that will arrive soon, i need to cross the canadian border and come back to canada again go through immigration and they're suppose to issue my new work permit. the only question is- if i'm considered, under the new border restrictions, as a temporary worker and they will issue the work permit and let me in? or not? thank you

My fiance was granted his K1 visa at his interview in Montreal on March 4. It expires on August 14, 2020. As you may know, they've closed the US Canada border to nonessential travel. They keep talking about 'nonessential' as shoppers or tourists, while essential travel involves trade/commerce. Obviously immigrating to the US falls into neither of those categorires, and I cannot find any information on whether someone on a time sensitive K1 visa would be exempt from the ban or not. I spent all day trying to call USCIS, Homeland Security, Customs/Border Patrol, and emailing any government entity I could think of. The US Customs/Border Patrol says that until there's an executive order stating the details of the restrictions, they don't know who all is allowed through or not. There's nothing on the white house website yet, so all I have to go by is his speech. I also asked them if an extension would be possible, but they didn't know that either since this has never happened before. Is there anywhere else I should be looking, or people I could ask about this? I'm really nervous that we could lose our visa that we worked 11 months for because of this stupid virus.

Wondering if anyone has an interview coming up in Montreal to get a spousal greencard? Our documents were accepted Feb 24th 2020 (our initial i-130 priority date was jan 7th 2019). I cannot find any info about how long it takes for them to set an interview date beyond 60-90 days . i don't know if that time frame means how long it takes to set an interview date or if it is how long it takes to have the actual interview. Aaand now coronavirus! Will then even be scheduling interviews? How nice would it be if they would do a skype interview instead?!? (Wishful thinking). I live in BC so going across the continent is far from convenient. Heck- even if the planes aren t flying I will drive myself there. I am currently self isolating in Washington State, USA with my husband just a short ferry ride to my Canadian home in BC.

I feel like this might be a stupid question, but I've got to ask it anyways... When you are scanning you're documents to send to NVC, will they reject it if you have a corner folded over because there is a staple in it? I just looked through the Tax Return for our joint sponsor. My husband took pics of it on his phone, and he just flipped through all the pages without removing the staple. Should we rescan these? Also, we had to compress a couple of files big time and they look a bit blurry when you first open them. However, when you zoom in on the doc they look clear. Is it safe to submit this way? I could write in the comments: "doc reads clearly when zoomed in." I'd appreciate you're thoughts or experiences on this! Thanks!
