Hello everyone, me and my fianc have just received our NOA2 for the K1 petition so we are still a long time away from filing for AOS. However, I wanted to know if the beneficiary having student loan debt and/or credit card debt from his home country would affect AOS and the new public charge rules? Specifically while filling out the I-944 form? Thanks

I have a question about the form i-944. I know for the i-864, you can submit tax transcripts which you can get them directly from the IRS website or tax returns. The tax transcript is a document verifying that the IRS has received your tax return and has processed it. However, in the "Household Income" section from the i-944, they only mention about the "tax transcripts" as evidence. It says that if you haven't filed U.S. tax reports, we need to provide our foreign tax "transcripts" as evidence. I don't think we have such thing as "tax transcript" in Canada. I do have a tax report and T4 in my hand. The question is can I use my Canadian tax report, not tax transcript, along with T4? If not, what is the Canadian equivalent to the USA tax transcript? Is there anyone who have submitted a Canadian report as a supporting document? Let me know if I can use my Canadian tax report along with my T4 from last year. If not, let me know where I can get my Canadian "tax transcript" because nowhere on the CRA website says they provide a tax transcript.

Hello my fianc and I have everything but our passport photos ready to send in. Does anyone know where we can still get them taken? Or can I send them in later? I just want to get this all in and going. This pandemic sucks!

Hi, I moved to the US in December of 2018 and I've been living here ever since. I filed my taxes for 2018 in March of last year because I was working part time and in school part time. In all of 2019, I did not work in the US (did not get my greencard until later in the year) and was in the US so I did not return to Canada. I am pretty sure I have to file taxes one last time in Canada last year, or am I wrong because I did not make any money? Is there anything else I would declare? I have no house, assets, etc as I was only 22 when I left. Sorry if my question is stupid lol. Marie

Had trouble getting this info so I thought I'd share: As of 4/10/2020, the Canadian/US border is accepting K1 visas at the border crossing and deeming them, "essential travel". Just got off the phone with a border agent stationed at a crossing in New York.
