Hi everyone, I'm at the last step of the k1 visa (my interview was supposed to be early April). The doctor that did my exam, Dr. Lee, has been very uninformative. I found out right before everything shut down that my chest x-ray was inconclusive and I need another test to prove I don't have TB. The specialist they recommended is at the St. Michael's hospital in downtown Toronto and they are still not accepting non-emergent patients. I only just found out that this test takes two months to process so I'm very anxious to get started. Does anyone know of another tb specialist/panel doctor anywhere in Canada or the northern US that could perform the test? Or has anyone else had to go through this test and can help explain it? I have had a very hard time getting information. Thanks!

Hello all. I am new here and my query is unique. I am a Pakistani citizen who is a Canadian permanent resident living in Canada, and married to a US citizen. Our marriage took place in the US in 2017 but we have been living together in Canada after our marriage. Last year, we decided to move to the US and applied for IR1 immigrant visa and are currently at the NVC stage. We submitted all our documents to NVC on June 4 and today, we got the following response regarding our marriage certificate: Please replace this with an acceptable marriage certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines. Since we were married in the US, we provided our original marriage certificate issued to us by the local mosque. According to the Civil Documents by Country > Pakistan, a Pakistani- Muslim applicant must provide a NADRA-issued marriage registration certificate which we obviously do not have since the marriage took place in the US. My question is that since we were not married in Pakistan nor do I live there, what would be my appropriate reply to the NVC regarding this? I have a State of Indiana issued marriage license if that will help? I appreciate any advice that can be sent my way. Thanks.

My fiancee (now wife) crossed into the U.S. by car at Blaine, WA with her K-1 Visa on March 18th, the very day that Trump and Trudeau announced that the border between the two countries would be closed to all but essential traffic. A couple of days later that ban went into effect and remains in place as of today, June 16th. (Apparently now extended until at least the end of July.) My question is this. Have fiancee's with K-1 Visa's in their Canadian passports been able to successfully cross into the U.S. since the "essential traffic only" ban went into effect on March 21st?

Hi so I am at the NVC stage of my process and have come into an issue. when I submitted the petition I used the name for the beneficiary that ended with jit as some of the documents had it listed as such. now I have uncovered that some documents list it as jeet , including the passport. I think this will cause some sort of issue going forward, especially if passport says jeet and green card would list jit what is my course of action? Can I let NVC know that this is what has happened? And have them put another name he goes by and add the jeet name in there? the birth certificate got translated and it was done as jit . I can have all the documents changed from jeet to jit but it will take some time. just curious if anyone here ha seen or dealt with similar issue thanks!

I have no idea if this is the place to ask this question, or if it even belongs in this forum at all, but I am hoping someone is able to help me! Background: My husband and I were both born in Canada and are still Canadian Citizens. My husband is also a Naturalized U.S Citizen, and I'm a U.S Permanent Resident. We reside in the U.S. We recently adopted our son (who was born in the U.S) and officially have his new birth certificate that shows my husband and I as his parents, with his new name. My question is - is our son automatically a Canadian citizen because both his parents (my husband and I) are Canadian citizens? Or - how do we go about obtaining our son's Canadian citizenship so that he will hold both Canadian and U.S citizenship? Is there an application to fill out, etc. ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
