My wife has returned to the US to go to school and now, since we are at the National Visa Center stage where she will have to an I-864, she has to file the tax returns she didn't do for previous years. Which address should she use on these tax returns, both for 2019 and prior, her new US one or the Canadian one (where I still reside)?

Hey all! Is anyone aware of any updates in regards to the embassy beginning interviews again? Life seems to be more or less back to normal as far as businesses being open again just curious what the hold up may be! Thanks

Hello everyone, we have an AOS application in progress. We just moved to another apartment and I submitted the new address via the USCIS online address change page. I entered the pending I-485, I-765 and I-131 numbers on the online form and submitted the address change. A few days letter I just got a letter in the mail, confirming that my address was changed for I-485 with its number. Does this mean that the address for I-131 and I-765 were not changed since the acknowledgement only mentions the I-485. Should I submit the online address form again for the other two applications I-131 and I-765 as well to make sure they are changed as well or do they change along with the I-485, the letter I received does not acknowledge the other two pending forms or their number.

Hello ! I'm new on this website really useful so far. My case is now at the NVC and I'm also using Boundless to help in my immigration process. I'm at the point where I gotta have my transcripts and diploma translated and evaluated for their US equivalent. Nothing really complicated I have my high school diploma and a vocational school diploma, which are both in French so they will also need to be translated in English. I'm wondering if anybody here has some recommendation ? There's a lot of partner here I just figured since I found this forum recently maybe some of you would have recommendation for me.

Hi all, So I had an accountant do my 2019 taxes and found out my wife and I get a large refund for child tax credits. Because of this, I'm looking to backfile mine and my wife's taxes from 2017 and 2018 and I have a few questions. I became a legal permanent resident in November 2019. 1) When we backfile, I need to file as married-filing-jointly. Will this affect anything in terms of the stimulus payment we received this year? 2) Should I just use my current SSN even though I wouldn't have had one in 2017/2018? Do I need to attach a letter explaining to the IRS that I was a non-resident alien and want to be treated as a resident alien for tax purposes? 2) We were both living in Canada and I had a TFSA but my wife (US citizen) did not. Since we are filing jointly, is my TFSA interest and capital gains treated as a foreign trust and subject to such taxes? Thank you!
