I have no idea if this is the place to ask this question, or if it even belongs in this forum at all, but I am hoping someone is able to help me! Background: My husband and I were both born in Canada and are still Canadian Citizens. My husband is also a Naturalized U.S Citizen, and I'm a U.S Permanent Resident. We reside in the U.S. We recently adopted our son (who was born in the U.S) and officially have his new birth certificate that shows my husband and I as his parents, with his new name. My question is - is our son automatically a Canadian citizen because both his parents (my husband and I) are Canadian citizens? Or - how do we go about obtaining our son's Canadian citizenship so that he will hold both Canadian and U.S citizenship? Is there an application to fill out, etc. ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am wondering if any of you have experienced this situation. My AOS application was mailed before the deadline of Feb 25 - when the new rule was implemented - and I have proof from the post office with tracking number. However, I received a RFE asking me to complete the form and attach the documentation. Some people told me to just do it, as most of the documentation are not hard to get. but honestly, my finance hasn't been great since I came here, unable to work for more than 10 months, no health insurance...these will impact me, if taken into account. (I never received any assistance, fyi). I would like to reply to the RFE with the documents that I have, add the proof that this rule doesn't apply in my case, and notify my area congressman in the meantime. So, if anyone has seem a similar case, I would like to share experience because I don't want to make the agent mad at me, and delay my case for perpetuity...(feel like I am living in a dictatorship, where I have to kiss everybody's ### for something I am allowed to have). thought?

Hi Guys, So i won the DV 2021 lottery and my case number is 2021AS10XXX. I've been with my girlfriend for almost 4 years, was looking to get married so that both of us can immigrate together. The problem is that she's currently in France and I'm in Canada. With the travel restrictions and the time needed to process the marriage, we will not have the marriage certificate ready before sometime November 2020 at the earliest. I think that by then it will be too late to send the DS-260, and i'm thinking of sending the DS-260 on my own for now, and then unlock it to add her later once we have the marriage certificate? or sponsor her once I receive the green card; i'm aware of the lengthy wait period, 2-3 years :( What would you do if you were in my shoes? Let me know! Thanks!!

Hello, As a Canadian on a B2 Visa, how many days per calendar year can I stay in the US? I entered the country in December, then flew back to Canada in February. I re-entered the country in April and according to my i94, my 'admit until date' is in October. At this point in time I've been in the US for a total of 107 days inconsecutively. I am currently awaiting my interview at the consulate in Montreal for my green card(I'm married to another green card holder), and I have been filing taxes in the US for 2 years. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

We just got a rejection notice stating that; "The application/petition has not been fully completed. Based on the selection you made under Part 2 Application Type or Filing Category, the Form I-944 and/or I-864/I-864EZ are required. Please review the form instructions for information." We included both the I-944 and the I-864 forms. What could we be missing?
