Hi guys, This may seem like a really basic question. We are going to be getting married 3 months from now after which I'll apply for AOS. When should I start preparing the forms and obtaining documents? Should I wait until a month out or can I start now? My only thought was if the information I am providing is 3 months old then I may have issues, such as my credit report for form I-944. Thanks!

I have a query. Commissionaire-North Alberta office refused to book an appointment for criminal check record for my 16 yrs old daughter. They are not doing it for minors under 18. Has anybody experienced a similar situation?

Hi there, My husband and I are planning to file jointly within the next few days (due to the tax deadline extended into July bc of the virus). I did not work at all last year (only had green card for a few months) but my husband was working so we are filing jointly. We are going to be speaking to his accountant tomorrow but I wanted to just be sure of the immigration aspect of it. I am due to file my ROC next september/potential citizenship and we are planning on paying taxes late/requesting an extension on the tax payment with a payment plan from the IRS. Will this have any adverse effect on either process? It will most likely be paid off in full by the time I file for ROC anyway, but just wanted to make sure. Thank you, M

Hi everyone. I'm not 100% sure where I should post, but I am hoping I might be given some direction. I am a Canadian Citizen living in a border town. Its a half hour drive to my boyfriends in the USA (US Citizen). Its our hope that once we've completed the Visa/Green card journey, I will continue to work in Canada. I have a job that I love, and my commute really would not change. Has anyone ever been in this situation? Is this even possible? I've seen stories about travel restrictions for honeymoons, etc., I just wonder if that would apply in this situation, or if there are any exemptions we would be able to apply for? We're leaning toward the Marriage-based Visa rather than the K-1, in the hopes that after we've married, we can continue to travel to see each other and remain working at our current jobs until I am approved to live in the US (I understand this also might be a bit more complicated once an application is in motion). Thank you so much for any help/direction.

Have any Canadian citizens living in the US been able to successfully return to Canada crossing a land border for a visit during this border closure? Canadian border website says Canadian citizens and immediate family are exempt, but they are not clear about Canadian s living abroad and their family.
