US Immigration from Canada

Hi folks,

I will have my Naturalization Oath Ceremony tomorrow at Los Angeles (Fingers crossed). And I requested a name change. I just realized that SSA had closed in-person services and how are we supposed to have our SSN updated with the new name after 10 days of the oath ceremony? Don't know if online services would work.

Any thoughts and ideas?

So, I can t find a thread on this. If one already exists, please let me know! I am a Canadian citizen and my boyfriend is American. We filed for K1 visa a few months ago on our own. We are waiting for NOA2. Today, I called VisaPlace to get some information about if I can spend more than 182 days in the states in a calendar year as a visitor. WELL, I got a lot more information from the lawyer, he basically told me I wasted my time applying for a K1 As Canadians don t have to apply for K1 before getting married, it s for countries that can t enter the states without a visa. and that I could retain their services, they would void the K1 application and go directly to I-130. IM SO CONFUSED. Everything I read contradicted what the lawyer was telling me. I don t know what to do. Should I continue on with the K1 process or pay $5k+ and retain immigration lawyer services so that they do the application for me and go straight to I-130? Anyone can help?

A quick question here, I have investments in brokerage and will need to include these statements with my I-944. Each month's statement is around 14-30 pages depending on activity, however there is a summary page that details all transactions at a high level. Do I need to include all pages (30 pages * 12 months is a lot of paper) or is it OK to just send the summary pages which outlines beginning balance, activity and ending balance?

I m waiting on my Canadian high school and university transcripts to be delivered for the dreaded i944 form and I m wondering if I really need the education equivalency for this package or not.

I ve been scrolling through the threads on here which have helped me a million times more in the past month than all the calls I ve made to uscis combined, so I figured you would be the right people to ask this question to!

From the comments I ve seen, a couple people have submitted without the equivalency and had no problems. I just wanted a few experiences and (gentle) opinions on if it s needed. My i94 is already expired by more than a month and these transcripts have taken nearly a month to come, I just don t want to keep feeling like I m risking being deported for another week or two while I wait for people to evaluate my credentials if it s not absolutely mandatory.
